Heading into the 2021 high school volleyball season, junior middle hitters or middle blockers are among the 10th Region players on the verge of helping to lead teams.
Here are four 2023 10th Region middles on the rise.
Katlynn Banks is a junior middle blocker from George Rogers Clark High School. Poised to take on a larger role for George Rogers Clark during the 2021 high school volleyball season, Banks is agile and moves well from side to side. Quick, Banks is aggressive at the net.
Lexy Brooks is a junior middle hitter from Augusta High School. Athletic and fast, Brooks uses quick attacks on offense routinely. In addition to delivering offensively, Brooks blocks well, both individually and with teammates.
Mercedes Hedgecock is a junior middle hitter from St. Patrick High School. Hedgecock has displayed the ability to hit and contribute both offensively and defensively. Able to execute fast attacks, Hedgecock reads setters efficiently.
Makaylah Mitchell is a junior middle hitter from Scott High School. Athletic, Mitchell adjusts her approach to get the most out of attacks. Mitchell is productive and has shown the ability to close blocks with the opposite hitter and the outside hitter.
