It will be exciting to see some well-known names establishing themselves even more in the Lone Star state volleyball scene and some new faces breaking through and quickly emerging to earn the spaces.
Between now and the start of the high school season, at the beginning of August, we’ll highlight some players we believe are worth your attention when teams get back on the gym. The University Interscholastic League (UIL) 3A Division has a strong group of great liberos and here are some of them.
Jaycee Adams – HS: Bushland – 2022
Jaycee Adams is an extremely talented volleyball and softball player who fortunately made the decision of continue her career on the courts at the collegiate after her recent commitment to West Texas A&M. The 5’3” libero was instrumental to Bushland’s victory at the State Championship with her solid game that generated a match-high 24 digs in the final. That performance was key in securing her spots at the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-State team and the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-Tournament team.
Khloe Naegline – HS: Poth – 2022
Khloe Naegline is another standout libero from the class of 2022. She made it to the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-State second team behind Adams after an extremely productive season with her high school team Poth. The 5’4” Naegline masters the backcourt game in big part because of her technical discipline. He repeats the same technical gestures over and over again, adding a much-welcomed layer of consistency to her game.
Sadie Kabisch – HS: Henrietta – 2022
Sabie Kabisch also belongs in the top tier of liberos in the division and her tremendous 2020 season with Henrietta just strengthened that idea. The 5’5” libero was flawless all season and ended up being part of the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) All-State team as an honorable mention. One of the things that make of Kabisch an exceptional defender is her reaction speed. She’s really quick and coordinated when it coming to chasing hard hits and often manages to keep the ball up in the air with single-handed digs.
