Continue ReadingWe are proud of our first update to the 2024 Class since our initial publishing in December. We have grown to 96 of the best athletes that this state has to offer and the following players have made some serious moves on the list. It is through their play during this past school and club season that has helped us decide who should be where on the rankings. We always say that it is not an exact science, however proving it on the court in their position always helps solidify the analysis. We will be profiling players who were previously ranked in the state, but through great play, they made some serious moves up the rankings. Without further ado, here are a few players who moved up:
Lauryn “Lolo” Lambert Lauryn “Lolo” Lambert 5'9" | OH Plano East Senior | 2024 State #20 Nation TX [2024] 5-8 Outside (HS: Bishop Lynch/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We are proud to announce that Lauryn has moved up the rankings to now be listed as the 2nd best overall prospect and outside in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. When we first introduced her in December we stated the following “While she might not be prototypical outside height yet, (she’s only a freshman and will likely hit another growth spurt) Miss Lambert plays well above the net due to her great 26 inch vertical. LoLo is someone you immediately notice if you walk by her court due to her dynamic athleticism and raw power. Her amazing offensive arsenal has been on full display this year as she starred for her Bishop Lynch varsity program and also for her Dallas Skyline club team now that tournaments have started. She can hit on both pins and scores at will on both out of serve receive. Watching her move the ball around so easily shows me that she has a very high volleyball IQ and will be a kill leader on any team she plays for. She has all of the tools to move up the rankings in the future due to her desire to excel and her competitiveness. We knew all it would take was more time for her to prove that she is one of the best in her age group in the state. We were able to see how skilled she is all around the court. What really surprised us this club season was her back row/ball control against some of the best competition in the nation. We will continue to watch her progress closely and will be profiling her a lot in the future. IF you don’t know the name LoLo….you will soon. Please help us congratulate her on moving up to be one of the top four volleyball players in the State of Texas. “ She did it again. She moved up and it was all due to her hard work and proving herself on the court against the best teams in the nation. She is worth the price of admission and is the best player in the gym in almost every match she plays. Her natural power and athleticism will “wow” every spectator in the gym. We are super excited to cover her for the next couple of years. Please congratulate her on being named one of the best players in the state of Texas.
Savannah Skopal Savannah Skopal 6'0" | S Rouse | 2024 State #39 Nation TX [2024] 6-0 Setter (HS: Rouse/Club: Rouse/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Skopal has moved up from being named as the 10th ranked prospect to now be the 8th best overall player and the top setter in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We profiled her earlier this year and stated the following, “Savannah has stormed out of the gate this year helping lead her high school team as a freshman into the playoffs. She is as skilled as they come for a young setter. You wouldn’t know that she is only a freshman with the way she carries herself on the court. She blended in well with the upperclassmen at Rouse and they showed out together. She dished out 855 assists and had 197 digs to go along with 34 aces and even had 63 kills…AS A FRESHMAN ON A TALENTED PLAYOFF TEAM who went 13-1 in district and 18-7 overall on the season. She is a silky smooth setter who is pinpoint accurate and has every set location and tempo in her arsenal. She plays for a great program in the Austin area in Austin Juniors. We are looking forward to watching her grow. As of right now we have her listed as the top pure setter in the state. Welcome to the Prep Dig Family.” We watched as she grew even more as a player this past club season. She is on pace to be one of the best setters to ever come out of Rouse HS. She plays well beyond her years and that is due to some amazing coaching in club and high school. Please remember her name as she is one to watch. Help us congratulate her on moving up the rankings.
Cayley Hanson Cayley Hanson 6'2" | S Deer Park | 2024 State #43 Nation TX [2024] 6-2 Setter (HS: Deer Park/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Uncommitted)
We are proud to announce that Cayley has made another huge jump in the State Rankings. She is now ranked as the 12th best overall prospect and the 2nd best setter in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We wrote a few articles on her last month when we first introduced our awesome readers to Cayley. In that article we stated the following, “Miss Hansen plays high school for Deer Park with is in South East Houston and also club for the famed Houston Skyline club program. She is a tall drink of water who has been recognized by the AVCA Phenom List for 2021. She has already earned 1stTeam All District and Newcomer of the Year as a freshman at Deer Park. She is also an accomplished swimmer as she was a 2016 State Swim Finalist in backstroke. We fully believe that she has all of the tools to move up the rankings when we update them soon. She has no trouble pushing the ball across the court during out of system plays against the flow of the pass. Cayley can set all quick tempo sets and is an accomplished attacker also as she is able to hit on the left side and right side pin with ease. We are excited to have her in the Prep Dig Family and are excited to watch her progress on the court. We spent a lot of time analyzing her skill set and every time we watched, we noticed something new about her potential. Yes, size does help, however it is what you do with that size that separates the good from the great. What stands out the most is that she is multi-talented. She is a great setter and there are a ton of setters who also hit front row. However, not many setters stay front row to hit on the LEFT SIDE PIN! That alone should tell you just how legit she is. She does it at a high level against some of the best talent in the nation. We believe that her ceiling is super high and with a staff like the one at Houston Skyline to help her, she will only keep improving.” There is no doubt that she has the ability to keep moving up the rankings as she keeps growing on the court. She is a great physical specimen and a wonderful coachable volleyball player who is a great teammate. We are keeping a close eye on her progress along with every college coach in the nation. Please help us congratulate her on the wonderful achievement of moving up the rankings again.
