For now, we’ve compiled a list of over 20 athletes that are poised to make waves very early in their prep careers. Many of these players are already carving out a role in a varsity lineup. Others had standout performances during this year’s club season. Whatever the case may be, this list has some names to know in the years to come.
Let’s meet a few of these players, starting with a few ball control experts who know how to keep the offense humming.
Isabel Campie Isabel Campie 5'7" | S Omaha Marian | 2025 State NE – 5’8 S – Omaha Marian
Campie is a player who surely doesn’t mind being thrown right into the fire. She got some chances to lead the Marian offense last weekend at the Bellevue West Invite, and she showcased her talent well. There’s nothing like having your high school debut against the top teams in the state, but the moment wasn’t too big for Campie.
Sierra Pokharel Sierra Pokharel 5'4" | DS/L Millard West | 2025 State NE – 5’4 DS/L – Millard South
Here’s another player who made an impression at the Bellevue West Invite. Pokharel showed her natural ability in the backcourt for Millard South and helped the Patriots break into the championship bracket. After playing up for Premier this spring, it’s no surprise that Pokharel is finding early playing time.
Zoe Rademacher Zoe Rademacher 5'6" | DS/L Norris | 2025 State NE – 5’6 DS/L – Lincoln East
I got to see Rademacher’s high school debut when Lincoln East won their home opener against Grand Island last week. She stood out right away as she traded the libero jersey with veteran all-purpose player Brynn Carey Brynn Carey 5'8" | DS/L Lincoln East | 2023 State NE . Rademacher got even more high-level experience at the Bellevue West Invite.
Melody Mayer Melody Mayer 5'7" | DS/L Omaha Marian | 2025 State NE – 5’7 DS/L – Omaha Marian
Here’s the other member of Marian’s freshman class that is due to make a big impact during her prep career. Mayer is a natural defender and is stout in serve receive. These traits will be a huge asset on the Marian roster.
Lauren Fast Lauren Fast 5'8" | S Elkhorn | 2025 State NE – 5’8 S – Elkhorn
Here’s the next Fast to come through the Elkhorn program. The Antlers have an intriguing medley of youth and experience on their roster this season, and Fast represents what’s to come for this team.
Olivia Kremer Olivia Kremer 5'11" | DS/L Lincoln Southwest | 2025 State NE – 5’6 DS/L – Lincoln Southwest
There’s soon to be a big youth movement on this Lincoln Southwest team, and Kremer provides a great foundation for the future. She was a standout libero for Nebraska Elite this spring and should bring the same prowess to a talented Silver Hawks lineup.
Kenzie Kucks Kenzie Kucks 5'5" | DS/L Millard North | 2025 State NE – 5’4 DS/L – Millard North
Kucks has already made several appearances in the Millard North lineup, and she certainly showed her versatility on the floor. In addition to being an effective floor defender, Kucks also put down nearly 30 kills for the Mustangs over the weekend.
Keri Leimbach Keri Leimbach 5'4" | DS/L Lincoln Lutheran | 2025 State #40 Nation NE – 5’4 DS/L – Lincoln Lutheran
Leimbach had no problem fitting in with the veteran group of hitters for Lincoln Lutheran. The freshman defensive specialist appeared in every set of the season opener against Waverly and tallied an impressive 5.5 digs per set. Leimbach’s work with Nebraska ONE this spring demonstrated her readiness to compete with this powerhouse high school program.
