Alandry Below-Senior-Advance
The three-time defending state champions lost everyone but Below. Since her freshman year, she’s guided this team, and the new-look Hornets will still be in the title hunt discussion. Being the only holdover from last year’s state champions, she finished the year with 914 assists, 75 aces, 260 digs, and 86 kills.
Isabella Limback Isabella Limback 5'10" | OH Santa Fe | 2022 State MO -Senior-Santa Fe
Coming off a season where the senior to be put down 516 kills, hit .350%, 22 total blocks, 253 digs, and 64 aces. 5’10 hammer is looking to guide the Cheifs back to the final four after a loss to Midway in the playoffs. Isabella Limback Isabella Limback 5'10" | OH Santa Fe | 2022 State MO is the top returning kill leader for Class 1. Season-high 38 kills in a 3-2 state playoff win over St. Joseph Christian.
Reese Gray Reese Gray 5'8" | OH Lesterville | 2023 State MO -Junior-Lesterville
Reese helped her team to a 2nd place finish to 3 times defending state champion Advance. Coming off a fantastic sophomore season where she put down 506 kills, hit .277, with 16 blocks, 486 digs, and 49 aces—1 of 2 players to make all-state in each of her first two seasons. Reese had 24 kills in a 4 set win over Winona and 27 digs in a 3-0 win over South Iron, both season highs.
Baylee Russ-Senior-Midway
With a third-place finish at state losing to Lesterville in the semifinals, Russ is looking to take the Vikings back to the final four. Hit .275% with 280 kills, 60 blocks, and 35 aces, the Vikings return enough to help Russ guide this team back to the state tourney. Season-high 24 kills in a 3-2 win over KC Lutheran.
Emma Siron Emma Siron 5'9" | OH Sacred Heart | 2023 State MO -Junior-Sacred Heart
One of the two players to make all-state each of her first two seasons does it all for the Gremlins. A finished sophomore year with 348 kills on .328 hitting, 54 blocks, and 38 aces, Emma Siron Emma Siron 5'9" | OH Sacred Heart | 2023 State MO is looking to guide the Gremlins back to the state playoffs. Season-high 33 kills in a 5 set win over Concordia.
Riley Arnold-Senior-Blue Eye
Riley guided her team back to the playoffs last year before losing to state runner-up Lesterville. She wants to finish off a senior year in the final four as she did with Blue Eye’s 3rd place basketball team last year. Riley led her team with 335 kills, 316 digs, and 45 aces. Season-high 32 kills in the district championship win over Billings.
Grace Hicks Grace Hicks 5'5" | S Lesterville | 2023 State MO -Junior-Lesterville
Hicks finished last year with 1154 assists to help guide Lesterville to a runner-up finish. Lesterville will need Hicks to have another outstanding season to get back to the championship match. Hicks will need to lead the Bearcats through a grueling schedule and districts where Winona and South Iron will be standing in the way to prevent a 6th straight district championship. She returns for a junior year as the top assist leader returning for Class 1. Season-high 49 assists in the semifinal win over Midway to reach the state title match.
Nevaeh Malawey Nevaeh Malawey 5'8" | RS Winona | 2023 State MO -Junior-Winona
This 5’9 lefty can play anywhere on the court and did so last year for the Wildcats. This season, Nevaeh is looking for a district championship with 377 kills, 14 blocks, 403 digs, 45 aces, and 137 assists during her sophomore year. Twenty-five kills are her season-high in a 5 set loss to South Iron.
