Here are some of the top setters from the Class of 2024.
Lilly Wagner Lilly Wagner 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2024 State #42 Nation WI – Oconomowoc
Lilly is one of the top athletes in the class of 2024 and ranked as the top seter. She is fast, smart, and has incredibly good fundamentals. Lilly sees the court very well and has a lot of drive to keep improving her game. She is a fun athlete to watch and earned a lot of playing time at Oconomowoc as a freshman last year. Lilly also participated in the USAV National Team Development Program this past summer.
Andi Spies Andi Spies 5'10" | S Fort Atkinson | 2024 State #135 Nation WI – Fort Atkinson
Andi is the definition of a gritty athlete. She can dig in deep in even the toughest matches and play to her team’s needs. She made the Badger Region Girls National Select team and was named to the All-Tournament Team at the USA Championships earlier this summer. Andi plays with maturity beyond her years and is very smart on the court.
Emerson Van Lannen Emerson Van Lannen 5'10" | S Appleton North | 2024 State #144 Nation WI – Appleton North
Emerson brings a lot of fire to the court. She is very competitive and makes great decisions in her sets. Emerson was also on the Badger Region Girls National Select Team this past summer and helped lead her FC Elite 15 Navy team to a 3rd Place finish in the USAV Girl’s Junior National Championships 15 National division. Emerson has great form and can really speed up the tempo of the game as a setter.
Ava Dean Ava Dean 5'9" | S McFarland | 2024 State WI – McFarland
Ava is a very aggressive setter that always pushes herself to better the ball. She jump sets a lot and can be very hard to read. Ava takes on a huge leadership role on whatever team she is playing on and has huge success in setting a variety of hitters. She has an aggressive serve and plays gritty defense as well. Ava really is an all-around athlete with huge potential to make big waves in the volleyball world.
Ella Safar Ella Safar 5'9" | S Burlington | 2024 State WI – Burlington
Ella has picture-perfect form. She is also fast and very impactful on the court. On top of being a great setter, Ella is strong on defense, confident on the court, and has a highly competitive serve. She brings a lot of consistency and speed to her game and does a great job moving the ball around and feeding her hitters.
Emily Bruss Emily Bruss 5'9" | S Pulaski | 2024 State WI – Pulaski
Emily has gone from a good setter in her grade to one of the best. She has clean hands, is aggressive, and works incredibly hard. Her experience on the court rivals that of setters older than her and she has a positive impact every time she steps on the court. Emily is incredibly consistent and will only continue to grow and improve for her teams!
Eavan Finnerty Eavan Finnerty S Wauwatosa East | 2024 State WI – Wauwatosa East
Eavan is a very consistent setter who runs the court well. She puts great tempo on the ball and has really improved defensively in the past year. Eavan has a very competitive and consistent serve as well. She is very smart with the ball and works to connect with each of her hitters. She earned ample playing time as a freshman on varsity in 2020 and will look to continue her impact in the 2021 season.
Bryn Janke Bryn Janke 5'10" | S Wisconsin Dells | 2024 State WI – Wisconsin Dells
Brynn is a very smart and dynamic setter. She brings the whole package as a setter including a competitive serve, solid defense, and an ability to better the ball from anywhere on the court. She set for the FC Elite 15 National team who took 3rd place in the USAV Girls Junior National Championship in the National Division. Brynn has a lot of experience on the court and is very gritty.
