Alanna Bankston Alanna Bankston 6'1" | MB Millard West | 2023 State #68 Nation NE , outside hitter from Premier 16 Gold and Millard West high school has committed to attend and play volleyball for Louisville. On June 15th over 60 schools reached out to Alanna. She made camp visits to University of Kentucky, Creighton, Wayne State and Louisville and was considering official visits to LSU, KState, Iowa State and Illinois State. Alanna considered offers from 5 D1 schools, including schools in ACC, Big East, Big 12, Summit League conferences.
Alanna had this to say about why she chose Louisville: “The reason that I chose Louisville volleyball is because it’s a very successful program with a great culture and atmosphere. During my camp visit I felt really comfortable with the coaches and players and I was able to easily connect with the Louisville coaching style. l was always constantly comparing Louisville to all the other schools. When I started narrowing down my options, I seriously couldn’t see myself going anywhere else but Louisville! It’s the perfect fit for me and I can’t wait to join them in 2023!” Alanna will bring her 6-rotation play to her new high school, making Millard West one to watch to make big waves this fall.

Libero Jordie Nekl Jordie Nekl 5'5" | DS/L Columbus Lakeview | 2022 State NE from Columbus Lakeview has committed to University of Nebraska Kearney. Nekl is a steady presence in the back row with a great platform and knack for keeping the ball in system. She plays club ball for VCNebraska 17 Elite.
Another Millard West player has also recently committed. Middle blocker, Kylah Brewer, has committed to Morningside. Brewer has really came in to her own this last year. She’s a force at the net with her blocking and can also hammer the ball to the floor. She plays club with Premier Nebraska 17 Black.
Emma O’Neill Emma O’Neill 6'0" | MB Papillion-LaVista South | 2022 State NE has recently committed to Lewis University. After taking several visits this summer, she found her perfect place for school and volleyball. This middle blocker has a long reach and a quick arm. Look for her and her perennial good high school team of Papio South to be a favorite of making it back to state this high school season.
