Mater Dei- Breese, Illinois
Mater Dei finished the 2021 season first in the state, having a trailblazing season, 11-0. Mater Dei can be considered a powerhouse with their record coming out of the ’21 season. This team has a remarkable playing structure and I am excited to see the new talent and the revamped talents that they bring to the court.
Mater Dei has some returning athletes that I was able to get familiar with the previous season, such as outside hitter, Tori Mohesky, and middle blocker, Emma Johnson.
Benet Academy- Lisle, Illinois
Benet Academy finished second in the state with a record of 10-0. Benet Academy has a strong and solid team as they had a trailblazing season against other powerhouse teams and top 10 teams. Benet Academy faced other powerhouses such as Mother McAuley and Wheaton- Warrenwille South.
Benet Academy has other star returning players and contributing players returning this season. I am looking forward to the talent from setter Ella Strausberger and middle blocker Anna Eschenbach. With the restrictions lifting from COVID-19, the talents from these athletes are going to be better and stronger than before.
