With that in mind, we’re starting a series that will highlight some of the most promising Washington players according to their positions and regions. Today we’ll take a look at some setters who have been a great job in the Burlington area, in the Northwest of the state.
Amey Rainaud – HS: Burlington-Edison – Club: Skagit Island Volleyball Academy – 2022
One of the most well-known setters in the entire state, Amey Rainaud is just a stats monster and has put on some truly impressive numbers in three seasons with Burlington-Edison. The 5’7” playmaker has registered 2,256 assists, 761 digs, 144 aces and 101 kills for the Tigers, quickly becoming the team’s face on the court and setting the tone for her teammates. Rainaud has great touch on the ball and is very intelligent with her distribution, two important skills for a setter to have.
Kenna Flynn – HS: Anacortes – 2022
Kenna Flynn has been one of the pillars of her high school team Anacortes during her career and that’s not likely to change in her last season as a Seahawk. A very technical and steady setter, Flynn runs a very solid offense with her team and it one of those setters who bring a lot more to the table. Standing at 5’9”, she can impact the game at the net as well and is an extremely dangerous server, contributing to her team’s scoring system too.
Emma Keller – HS: LaConner – Club: Apex NW – 2022
A volleyball and basketball student-athlete, Emma Keller runs the offense of a strong high school program in LaConner. The 5’8” setter is extremely reliable with the location and is very calm and confident on the ball. She’s coming from a solid first season as the starting setter with the Braves, in which she registered 239 assists, 55 digs and 15 aces.
