Continue ReadingWe are venturing all around the state to explore a few players we haven’t written about yet on our State Rankings List. These Oklahoma athletes have waited long enough to enjoy some recognition for being such great volleyball players. These young ladies are ready to take the court by storm now that high school volleyball is back on for a full season. They just finished their club seasons and we have some updates on how it went. We couldn’t be happier to give them kudos for their hard work as we announce their placement on the Prep Dig State Rankings List.
Anniston Owen Anniston Owen 5'4" | DS/L Edmond Memorial | 2024 State OK [2024] 5-4 Libero (HS: Edmond Memorial/Club: Oklahoma Charge/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Anniston is currently ranked as the 4th overall prospect and also the top libero prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a stud defensive dandy for Edmond Memorial High School and plays for one of the best club programs in the state in Oklahoma Charge. This young lady has excellent footwork and moves very well on the court prior to contact. She does a great job of reading the attack and setting up in her designated adjusted defensive position based on her team’s defensive strategy. She keeps her arms well away from her body to absorb hard driven attacks and soften the contact. What I love about her form is how she holds her platform after contact. True high-level liberos do this and it shows that she has been trained very well and also shows how coachable she is to make this a habit. Miss Owen has no fear of hitting the ground to chase balls outside of her zone as she does this routinely and keeps her team in play. We are excited to have her in the Oklahoma Prep Dig State Rankings. Please congratulate her on achieving the recognition of being named the best player in her grad class due to her hard work.
Madison Hathaway Madison Hathaway 5'10" | RS Edmond Memorial | 2024 State OK [2024] 5-10 Right Side/Setter (HS: Edmond Memorial/Club: Oklahoma Peak Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Madison is currently ranked as our 6th best overall and the best right side hitter prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for Edmond Memorial High School and also club volleyball for the awesome Oklahoma Peak Performance program. We have her ranked so high because of her versatility. She is able to set and hit at an elite level at such a young age. In this day and age of specialization, players like her are an awesome throwback to those who can literally do it all without hesitation. Her natural athleticism mixed with her height is highlighted when you watch her get up and attack the ball with ferocity. We think she has a very bright future in the sport and suggest college coaches start taking notice now. You will fall in love with her hands, touch on the ball, and elite playmaking ability at the net. We are proud to have her in the Rankings and look forward to covering her. Please help us congratulate her on being one of the top players in the State of Oklahoma.
Katelyn Kreaps Katelyn Kreaps 6'1" | MB State OK [2024] 6-1 Middle (Club: Oklahoma Charge/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Katelyn is currently ranked as our 7th best overall and 2nd best middle prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays club for the famous Oklahoma Charge volleyball program and is from the Newcastle area. Her size definitely stands out when people first notice her, but what we love is her ability to run every route on the middle route tree with ease. As she continues to grow into her frame and get stronger we think she has amazing potential to play at the next level in a few years. She understands proper timing and drives hard toward her setter for quick attacks. Miss Kreaps contacts the ball very high and it makes it very difficult to slow her down. Please keep your eye on this one as we think she can be special. We are excited to have her in our Prep Dig Family and look forward to watching her sophomore season. Please help us congratulate her on the honor she just earned.
