The Class of 2025 is without a doubt bringing heat to the floor and has not let up this far. I am excited to see what they continue to bring to the table.
Avery Knupp– Orion
Knupp is currently one of the state’s top hitters when it comes to her talents and kills she has over the course of this season. Knupp is a first year varsity starter and currently has been seen in 41 sets with leading 138 kills amongst the 2025 class. Knupp is a stronger attacker and has a strong swing when it comes to attacking on the ball. Knupp is without a doubt a continuing developing player and I am curious to see how she continues to play out her season.
Alexa Miedema– Illiana Christian
Miedema is another athlete that comes out of a very well known athletic program and is without a doubt a very high noticed hitter. The outside hitter is a first year varsity starter and has not backed down since the start of her season. Miedema has been seen in 63 sets, topping 131 kills and currently pushing 174 digs. Miedema is most definitely a defensive player when it comes to saving the ball, but she is deadly when it comes to attacking the ball.
Janice Jackson– Kankakee Trinity Academy
Jackson is a freshman I would definitely want to keep eyes on this season, as she continuous gets stronger every game she plays in. The middle hitter is a very defensive and strong offensive player when it comes for her moment to shine on the court. Jackson is one of the few freshman to start on varsity and to been seen in 47 sets played. Jackson currently sits at 129 kills with 62 solo blocks. Jackson is very swift and attentive on the court, which is impressive for a first year.
Abby VanderWal– Timothy Christian
VanderWal is another freshman who has not backed down since the beginning of their season. VanderWal is currently a first year on varsity and has been seen in 27 sets played with 126 kills. It is without a doubt that once she steps foot on the court, she gets the ball rolling, literally. VanderWal is going to be one progressive athlete to continue watching over the course of the season.
Jaiden Schneiderman– Forrestan
Schneiderman is another strong freshman athlete who continues to keep paving the way for the start of success in her season. With 38 sets played and 120 kills, Schneiderman continues to prove that she has deserved her spot on her varsity team. The outside hitter is a high averaged kills across her games, averaging 11 kills per game. I am excited to see what she has in store the remainder of the season.
