Continue ReadingThe offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Mackenzie Plante Mackenzie Plante 6'0" | OH Dripping Springs | 2023 State TX [2023] 6-0 Outside (HS: Dripping Springs/Club: Austin Performance/Verbal: University of Tennessee)
Miss Plante is currently ranked as the 15th best prospect in the state according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. In the previous article we wrote on Mack, we stated the following, “Watch her hit a ball once on the left side and you will see why. I hope her opponents have life insurance because her swing is lethal to say the least. She is a true six-rotation player who has great ball control in serve-receive for her scary good Austin Performance club team. She has every shot imaginable from the left side but her main weapon that is almost unstoppable has to be her line shot. While most youngsters are still developing their ability to turn their body in mid-air to hit line, Mackenzie excels at it already. And its not just her ability to hit it that is astounding, it’s the power in which she does it with. She has a CANNON for an arm. I’m excited to see how much she improves in the sport and will bring my popcorn to watch this kid swing for the next couple of years. She did not disappoint this past high school season. She absolutely shined for her high school squad. With 332 kills and an amazing .310 hitting percentage on the left side, she was on fire as a sophomore on varsity. Add to that 24 blocks, 28 aces, and 253 digs and you have a stud volleyball player that you can count on for the next two years to lead your team to another playoff chase. She has been wonderful so far in the young club season for Austin Performance. She has been able to score from the back row and the front row easily. Her line shot has been unstoppable so far. College coaches take a look at this young lady and you will not be disappointed.” She has not stopped her dominance since our last article was published on her. She caught the eye of a lot of programs and she has chosen her school. We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at the University of Tennessee. The future Volunteer has her high school team at 8-1 in district and getting ready for the State Playoffs. Please congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level. We are glad that we still get the rest of this year and next year to cover her.
Alexis McDaniel Alexis McDaniel 5'3" | DS/L College Park | 2022 State TX [2022] 5-3 Libero (HS: College Park/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Alexis comes in ranked as the 140th ranked player in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She plays for a great club program in the North Houston area in TAV Houston. She originally played for Texas Tornados volleyball club in the past. We profiled her last summer and said the following, “She is a prototypical libero with her court movement and the way she keeps her head and eyes laser focused on the opponent while the ball is in play. The one aspect that stands out the most is her natural soft touch on hard driven balls. She absorbs contact with her platform like it is a super power. She uses her hands on overhead digs and is no stranger to the floor as she throws her body toward the ball with a relentless pursuit of it. She has a solid serve that stifles opposing serve receivers. She is also able to serve a nasty short serve that scores and keeps opponents off-balance. I think she can definitely play at the next level and would be a coach’s dream to have as she would push all teammates to play more aggressive defense. Keep your eye on her as she has a couple of years to continue to impress. She is an AVCA Phenom Watchlist member and has also made 15-6A 2ndTeam All District. In two years on varsity, she has accumulated 854 digs, 550 service receptions, and 63 aces in a very competitive district against amazing competition. We fully expect Alexis to keep progressing in the back row due to her work ethic and court vision. She has a wonderful touch on the ball and amazing defensive range that could easily help out a college program. She deserves a solid look by any coach who is looking to solidify their back row.” It didn’t take long at all for a college to come calling and we are proud to announce that Alexis has chosen to commit to the University of Central Arkansas to play volleyball. She has done an amazing job for both her club team this past season. UCA obviously saw what we saw in her great defensive abilities. Please help us congratulate her on being able to play college volleyball as it is a great achievement that is difficult to come by.
Katherine Crosley Katherine Crosley 5'9" | S Bowie | 2022 State TX [2022] 5-9 Setter (HS: Bowie/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Tulane)
Katherine is currently ranked as the 123rd top prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We profiled her in June and said the following about her, “She is verbally committed to Davidson and will be a star for them. Since bursting onto the scene as a freshman on Varsity last year and earning Newcomer of the Year honors, she hasn’t stopped getting better. The Austin Juniors phenom setter has turned heads ever since. She is a silky smooth left-handed setter who also excels in the classroom and earned academic all district last year as well. She has the length in her extremities to be a 5-1 setter at the collegiate level. She has such soft hands that help the ball just float off of her hands so smoothly. She moves the ball all around the net with ease. It is very nice to see a young setter grow into her frame and become so elegant with her movements. Oh did I mention she can bang also. She was also named her district offensive MVP last year as well. This young lady just keeps getting better each year and I think she is going to be a super stud over the next few years.” This past season for Bowie, Katherine was named as a preseason setter of the year for numerous publications. She was also named to the AVCA Phenom list due to her play on the court. She is also leading her Austin Juniors team to a wonderful season as the have also qualified for the Tour of Texas and will be competing against the best that the state of Texas has to offer.” She has been amazing for Bowie HS since her freshman year and now as a senior she is still killing it. Watching her move on the court showcases her athleticism as she glides to the ball so effortlessly. We are excited that she recently chose to commit to Tulane to play college volleyball. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of being able to play at the next level.
