Another exciting week of high school action in Nebraska is in full swing! Let’s get you up to date on everything that’s happened over the past few days.

On to the rundown.

Five-Set Thrillers

We saw a few intense five-set battles between elite teams throughout the state.

It all started Tuesday night in the marquee matchup between Elkhorn South and Norris. This Class A versus Class B duel was expected to be a barnburner, and it certainly delivered. The home-standing Storm jumped out to a 2-1 lead before the Titans mounted a massive rally to win in a tiebreaker. Nebraska commit Maisie Boesiger Maisie Boesiger 5'5" | S Norris | 2022 State NE keyed up a massive serving run at the beginning of the fourth set to swing momentum in Norris’ favor. Gracie Kircher Gracie Kircher 5'11" | OH Norris | 2023 State NE led the Norris attack on the outside with a huge 22-kill performance.

Elkhorn South was not done with five-set contests as they traveled to play Class A rival Papillion-La Vista. This time, it was the Monarchs who stormed back from 2-1 to take a narrow five-set win over the defending champs. Thankfully, if there’s any team resilient enough to bounce back from some very close defeats, it’s Elkhorn South.
