Kirstyn Loyd Kirstyn Loyd 5'11" | OH Jefferson | 2023 State MO (2023) | Jefferson
The 5’11 outside hitter for the Blue Jays had a solid week guiding her team to three 3-0 sweeps. With 41 kills on the week and 29 digs, she has helped her team improve to 16-5-1 on the year. A heavily relied on outside hitter provides her team much-needed offense.
Emma Breier (2023) | Jefferson
Another Blue Jay at 5’11 provides her team with a solid punch out of the middle. With nice footwork moving to the pins for blocking and transitioning back to the middle to hit has elevated Jefferson to one of the top teams in the state for Class 2. Second behind Kirstyn Loyd Kirstyn Loyd 5'11" | OH Jefferson | 2023 State MO on the team with 192 kills.
Maddie Ayers (2023) | South Iron
Ayers has her Panthers off and running this year with a 12-6-1 record. With 39 kills in two wins last week, the basketball star has volleyball abilities as well. With 194 kills on the season and 283 digs, Ayers and company will look for the September 30th match with Lesterville to gauge how they stack up in Class 1.
Haley Stover (2022) | Gideon
Here’s a team that gets very little coverage, but after what they did in the Dig for Life tournament, I need to investigate the Bulldogs more. With big wins over Northwest, South Iron, Advance, and Farmington, this could be the year for Gideon. The 5’8 outside hitter is leading a trio of hitters with over 80 kills apiece. With a season-high 17 kills in a 3-0 win over Class 1 defending state champion Advance.
Kaylee Ashabranner (2023) | Gideon
Another Bulldog on the list is 5’8 outside hitter Kaylee Ashabranner. With 88 kills on the season, she is tied with Haley Stover for the team lead. With a solid rotation for five strong hitters, the Bulldogs will be a force come playoffs to make a run at the final four in Cape.
