Here is a comprehensive list of conference winners in the state of Wisconsin!
North Shore Conference: Cedarburg
Despite losing to Port Washington in an incredible 5 set thriller last Tuesday, Cedarburg came out of conference play as champions! They have several highly competitive hitters including Aspen Jankowski Aspen Jankowski 5'10" | OH Cedarburg | 2022 State WI (committed to Arkansas Tech), Emma Grueneberg Emma Grueneberg 6'0" | MB Cedarburg | 2022 State WI (2022), and Juliana Napoleon (2022). Libero Jae Fitting Jae Fitting 5'8" | DS/L Cedarburg | 2024 State WI (2024) is incredibly talented. She is calm and collected yet makes explosive defensive plays. Setter Autumn Daute Autumn Daute 5'9" | S Cedarburg | 2022 State WI has had a huge year and is one of the most impactful athletes on this team. She has fast hands and is gritty and athletic on the court. This team has a lot to offer and some highly influential seniors. They will be fun to watch in playoffs which start next week.
Classic Eight Conference: Oconomowoc
This team has been dominant this year. And, every time they step on the cour they seem to have improved and have more chemistry than ever. Anna Bjork Anna Bjork 6'3" | MB Oconomowoc | 2024 State #54 Nation WI (2024), Cordelia Kearns Cordelia Kearns 6'1" | OH Oconomowoc | 2023 State WI (2023), and Haley Koch Haley Koch MB Oconomowoc | 2022 State WI (2022) have been top performers for this team all season on offense. They have power and finesse at the net and are great at manufacturing kills. Setter Lilly Wagner Lilly Wagner 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2024 State #42 Nation WI (2024) is one of the best athletes in her class and plays at a level far beyond her years. She is fast, smart, and precise. Libero Hadley Strohkirch Hadley Strohkirch 5'8" | DS/L Oconomowoc | 2022 State WI (2022) is gritty in the back row and is great at reading opposing setters and hitters.
Woodland Conference (West): Pewaukee
Even though Pewaukee graduated some great athletes in 2021, they did not miss a beat coming into this season. This is a deep program with a number of impactful hitters including Katie Gund Katie Gund 5'11" | S Pewaukee | 2022 State WI (Committed to Illinois Wesleyan), Kaylen DiBrito (2025), and Danielle Kopacz Danielle Kopacz 5'10" | OH Pewaukee | 2024 State WI (2024). Freshman libero Ashley Hutter has been dominant this season and looks like a seasoned pro in the Pirates backcourt. Setters Cora Riffle and Katie Gund Katie Gund 5'11" | S Pewaukee | 2022 State WI run the court in a smooth manner and keep the offense running efficiently.
Badger-West Conference: Sauk Prairie
The Eagles have had a dominant season going undefeated in conference play and having a 41-3 overall season record. Their only losses have come to Kettle Moraine, Germantown, and Edgewood. Senior outside hitter Aida Shadewald Aida Shadewald 5'11" | OH Sauk Prairie | 2022 State #184 Nation WI (Committed to Wright State) has been explosive in the front row and manufactures kills for her team. Other impactful hitters include Maggie Hartwig Maggie Hartwig 6'1" | MB Sauk Prairie | 2023 WI (2023), Annika Braund Annika Braund OH Sauk Prairie | 2023 State WI (2023), Alexis Klemm (2023), and Olivia Paukner Olivia Paukner 5'11" | MB Sauk Prairie | 2022 State WI (2022). Alia Schlimgen Alia Schlimgen 5'5" | DS/L Sauk Prairie | 2022 State WI (Committed to South Dakota State) is a force to be reckoned with in the back row and makes huge plays on defense and serve receive. Alexis Klem also sets for the Eagles as does junior Jenna Pistono Jenna Pistono 5'8" | S Sauk Prairie | 2023 State WI . This is a very well-rounded team that looks to have a deep run in the playoffs.
Big East Conference: Howards Grove
Howards Grove has won the state championship for Division 3 for two straight years and they have not lost any steam. They didn’t drop a single set in conference play and are currently 37-5 on the season. Their losses have all come from top-level opponents, several ranked in Division 1: DSHA, Appleton North, Oconomowoc, Lake Country Lutheran, and Edgewood. This roster is stacked with Emma Baierl Emma Baierl 5'8" | S Howards Grove | 2022 State WI (Committed to Truman), Saige Damrow Saige Damrow 5'8" | DS/L Howards Grove | 2023 State #17 Nation WI (Committed to Wisconsin), and Karissa Kaminski Karissa Kaminski 5'9" | DS/L Howards Grove | 2022 State #166 Nation WI (Committed to the University of Dayton). Up and coming athletes on this team are Elle Kennedy Elle Kennedy 5'5" | DS/L Howards Grove | 2024 State WI (2024), Emma Baierl Emma Baierl 5'8" | S Howards Grove | 2022 State WI (2024), and Kamryn Kaminski Kamryn Kaminski 5'7" | S Howards Grove | 2024 State WI (2024).
Greater Metro Conference: Germantown
Greater Metro Conference has arguably one of the best conferences in the state this year. The championship came down to the very last match of conference play. Junior pin hitter Lilly Wagner Lilly Wagner 6'0" | S Oconomowoc | 2024 State #42 Nation WI (Committed to Liberty) has been dominant for the Warhawks, bringing in over 450 kills this season. Madelyn Weyda Madelyn Weyda 5'10" | DS/L Germantown | 2022 State WI has also had a huge impact on the court. Both are essential on both offense and defense. Senior setter Maddie Connor Maddie Connor S Germantown | 2022 State WI is efficient and smart with her sets. She is also incredibly fast on the court. This team is very well-rounded and has some top-level talent.
Southern Lakes Conference: Burlington
The Demons have caused some trouble this season for opponents. They went undefeated in conference play and are 32-4 overall. Their rare losses have come from Kettle Moraine (twice), Kimberly, and Catholic Memorial. Impact players for Burlington include junior libero Molly Berezowitz Molly Berezowitz DS/L Burlington | 2023 State WI , sophomore setter Ella Safar Ella Safar 5'9" | S Burlington | 2024 State WI , senior middle Abby Alan Abby Alan 6'0" | MB Burlington | 2023 State WI , and senior Lydia Biggin Lydia Biggin 5'10" | RS Burlington | 2022 State WI . This team is gritty and plays amazing defense while also being able to execute out of serve receive.
Midwest Classic Conference: Lake Country Lutheran
Lake Country Lutheran has a stacked roster and it shows. They went 12-0 in conference play and have a 32-7 season record against some of the top schools in the state. Senior libero Adriana Studer Adriana Studer DS/L Lake Country Lutheran | 2022 State #187 Nation WI (Committed to Villanova) is a key athlete on this team. Junior setter Rachel Rossing Rachel Rossing 5'9" | S Lake Country Lutheran | 2023 State WI is key to the offense’s success. She is hard to read, fast, and gritty on the court. Top offensive players include senior pin hitter Hannah Kuhlman, sophomore pin hitter, Ellie Schumacher Ellie Schumacher 5'9" | OH Lake Country Lutheran | 2024 State WI , and freshman middle Karli Molnau. This team was one of Howards Grove’s only losses and will look to contend for a state title this year.
