Continue ReadingThe 2021 High School season has been amazing so far! Along with our readers, we have been on pins and needles watching teams battle all season long. There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles. We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season. As we are funneling into the end of district play and about to head into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our inaugural Prep Dig Texas All-State Awards. Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences/classes together and pick the best of the best. The 2023 outside hitters we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics. Let’s meet some of the nominees:
Brooklyn Jaeger Brooklyn Jaeger 5'9" | OH Fayetteville | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-9 Outside (HS: Fayetteville/Club: Texstar/ Verbal: Uncommitted)
Brooklyn is the 116th ranked prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We profiled her a while back and said the following, “Miss Jaeger is from a small town located halfway between Houston and Austin. The population of Fayetteville is around 263. The town may be small, but Brooklyn’s talent is huge. This young lady is a point-scoring machine for her school and club team. She is a six rotation outside hitter who will only get better with more experience and time under her belt. Her ball control is exceptional and she is a primary passer in each rotation. Brooklyn has a lot of power in her attack and she can score both hard cross and down the line with her super fast arm swing. Brooklyn is the primary attacker for her high school team at such a young age and regularly records double digit kills in their matches. She plays for a great club in Texstar and we know that her club director Milton Koller will have her ready for the next level in a few years as he always has great talent in his program.” We have been watching closely and she has not disappointed. We are combining all schools regardless of size and Brooklyn is currently leading the entire state in kills for the 2023 class with 828 kills so far. She is the main reason why her Fayetteville varsity squad is currently 40-1 overall and 14-0 in district. Please help us congratulate her on being named as a candidate for an All-State award.
Bianna Muoneke [2023] 6-0 Outside (HS: Cy Ranch/Club: Houston Juniors/Verbal: Texas A&M)
Bianna is currently unranked in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She has been on our watch list for a while and we definitely will be adding her to our rankings in the next update. We recently profiled her to announce her commitment to play at the next level and we said the following about her, “She has proven to us that she belongs and is a legit threat on the court. She recently committed to playing at the next level with Texas A&M in the SEC. Luckily for us we can cover her for the next two years. She is one of the reasons that Cy Ranch is going ballistic this season. They are currently 28-3 overall and just started district and are 4-0. So far she has obliterated every statistical category from last year and she is not even done yet. She will do extremely well for the Aggies and we are so happy for her commitment. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing volleyball at the next level. And stay tuned for more coverage of this young lady soon.” She has been on fire this year and has definitely earned the right to be in the running for an All-State award due to her play on the court. Cy Ranch has been on a tear and the six-foot junior is a big reason why. They are currently 38-3 overall and 14-0 in district. Bianna has 621 kills on a very impressive .421 hitting percentage from the outside. Please congratulate her on her stellar play and for earning a nomination for an All-State award. Stay tuned to see if she wins.
Nayeli Gonzalez Nayeli Gonzalez 6'2" | MB Cornerstone Christian | 2023 State #35 Nation TX [2023] 6-1 Outside/Middle (HS: Cornerstone Christian/Club: Alamo/Verbal: Iowa State)
Nayeli is currently ranked 3rd overall in the 2023 class according to our State Rankings. Miss Gonzales plays for an amazing Cornerstone Christian high school program and also for the renowned Alamo Volleyball out of San Anotnio. We profiled her a few times and here is a little refresher about who she is, “She has an armswing that is almost unstoppable at any age group. She plays well beyond her years for an Alamo club that is playing against some of the best teams in the state. This kid definitely has Division 1 written all over her playing style. She drives her feet extremely hard toward her setter in order to gain momentum on her quick attack. Then she unleashes an attack that is quite a sight to be seen. Very rarely do you see her heels on the ground, which makes her approach so fast.” She has been stellar since she burst onto the scene as a freshman and this year is no different. As we are combining public, private and all size schools into our All-State awards, Nayeli has catapulted herself into the running with some amazing stats. She is currently 4th in the entire state in kills with 497 on a very impressive .317 hitting percentage. Please help us congratulate her on being named as a candidate for an All-State award.
There are many more amazing players that will be nominated. Stay tuned for more articles on your favorite athletes to see who ends up with a chance at one of the prestigious awards.
