Our updated look at Nebraska’s top individual performers continues!

In case you missed it, we just did a breakdown of some recent standout matches in the kills and digs categories. Now, it’s time to address the other big chunk of the stat sheet: blocks and assists.

Once again, we’ll be featuring a wide variety of athletes from schools of all sizes. And, of course, the list of big individual performances will continue to grow as the season progresses!

On to today’s breakdown.

Raising the Roof

Here are some of Nebraska’s most effective blockers over the past few weeks.

Mia Mroczek Mia Mroczek 6'2" | MB Elkhorn South | 2022 State NE has anchored the block for the defending Class A champs this year. Elkhorn South has gotten a ton of roofs from their senior star in the middle, including seven blocks in just two sets against Lincoln Pius X.

Brenna Schmidt Brenna Schmidt 6'4" | MB Elmwood-Murdock | 2022 State NE is another senior leader who has been racking up the roofs in 2021. That’s in addition to all the swings she terminates on, too. Schmidt racked up an impressive eight-block total against Freeman last week and remains the heart of Elmwood-Murdock’s offense and defense.
