One of our missions at Prep Dig is to highlight as many teams and prospects as possible around the state, from State Championship contenders and household names to underdogs and special talents who might be flying under-the-radar.
We spend a lot of time at the gyms gathering information and watching matches and will use this space to highlight some of the teams and players we got to watch in person. Today we take a look at the Langham Creek Lobos.
Langham Creek Lobos
The Lobos play for the Langham Creek High School in the Greater Houston area. Head coach Gena Glenn and her players have had more reasons to celebrate than to regret this season as the team currently holds a 24-15 win record. The Lobos’ record in the Class 6A, Region II – District 16 is also positive at eight wins and six losses.

Players to Watch:
Jordan Taylor – Middle Blocker – Club: Houston Juniors – 2025
Jordan Taylor. Write that name down in pen. It’s not common to see freshman middle blockers with such a well-developed game as hers and even less usual to see players that fit this description dominate matches. At 6’4”, Taylor can do just that because of the mix between her physical tools and a well-polished game. Her offense is already really hard to deal with, especially when she hits the slide set, and there’s still a lot of improvement for her in that area. Her blocking is also really good as her tremendous reach and good reading of the game often affect opposing hitter decision-making when she’s at the net. She’s been tremendous for the Lobos in her first year of high school volleyball, producing 250 kills, 101 blocks and 23 aces so far.
Kennedy Jones – Outside Hitter – Club: Texas Tornados – 2024
Kennedy Jones is another young player of Langham Creek’s roster who’s wise beyond her years. The 5’10” outside hitter is extremely explosive on offense but also produces at a high volume without making many mistakes, which is not always the case for players of her age who have such a high level of usage. Jones uses her athleticism really well and has above-average efficiency when out-of-system or hitting from the backcourt. She leads the Lobos in kills (397), ranks second in aces (38) and third in blocks (39). Jones is also a solid backcourt player, ranking second in the roster in both passes (485) and digs (401).
Ariana Spell – Libero – Club: Houston Juniors – 2025
Ariana Spell is yet another prospect whose presence will make Langham Creek a solid team for the next few years. The first-year, 5’5” libero slotted perfectly in the team’s starting lineup bringing some valuable contributions for the team’s defensive system. Besides leading the Lobos in digs (437) and ranking second in passes (360), Spell does extremely well on the little things, most notably covering her hitters, serving smartly and setting in transition.
