So it’s time to give some recognition who really caught our eyes this week. These four ladies left it all on the court and deserve every ounce of praise they are getting. Let’s take a look of the players who raised eyebrows this week.
Madison VanAlstyne (Paramus Catholic)
VanAlstyne had a solid week as she recorded 43 assists in two matches this past week highlighted by a 33 assist performance against Holy Angels. She keeps everyone involved to keep opposing teams off-balance.
Vanessa Freeman (Piscataway)
Freeman is one of the bright spots on a struggling Piscataway squad. She helped them have a 2-1 week with 16 kills and 32 digs in three matches. She put on a 9 kills, 21 digs performance in a victory over Old Bridge.
Jessica Balala Jessica Balala OH Midland Park | 2022 State NJ (Midland Park)
When you think of Midland Park, you look no further than Balala. She had a monster week as she had four matches and recorded double-digit digs in all of them. She averaged about 20 digs a match and has such a quick first step.
Hope Lagemann Hope Lagemann 5'11" | OH Glen Rock | 2022 State NJ (Glen Rock)
Lagemann has been the top option for Glen Rock with a live arm and has all of the shots in her arsenal. In three matches, she racked up 34 kills, 6 blocks and 8 aces. She does it all for the squad and will need to carry the load for their success.
