The Elks won the GWOC and are currently ranked #17 in the Ohio Division I state poll. Coghlan has been a nice asset for their offense as she has terminated double figure kills in 11 of their matches this season, including 16 in their recent 3-0 postseason win over Bellbrook. She is averaging 2.5 kills per set. The 21-3 Elks have nice balance offensively as Coghlan and three other attackers have over 200 kills on the season and are averaging 2.4 kills per set or better. The Elks advanced to next play this coming Saturday for a berth into the regional round.
Marisa Hermiller – 2023 | Leipsic
The 5’10 junior middle blocker led three teammates in double figure kills on Tuesday as she tallied 19 in the Vikings’ 3-2 victory over Toledo Christian. She was highly efficient terminating 51% of her attempts with a .432 efficiency. She also added two blocks. She is utilized in a variety of areas including serve receive and swinging on the left side and from the middle while showing ability to swing with good range through both halves of the court. Leipsic is 22-2 overall.
Taylor Luneborg – 2022 | Dover
Dover defeated River View 3-1 on Tuesday behind a big match from Luneborg. The senior outside hitter had 24 kills while hitting at a .367 clip. She also added 17 digs on the defensive side. The Crimson Tornadoes are 15-8 overall as Luneborg leads them offensively at 4.2 kills per set as well as defensively at 14.7 digs per match. She has an aggressive arm can be difficult to defend given her ability to score from a variety of attack points in both serve receive and transition. Dover next takes on Tri-Valley (23-1) this Saturday.

With a career high 28 kills on the night, Wasserman led Old Fort to the 3-2 win over Hopewell-Loudon to help keep their postseason journey alive. She averaged 5.6 kills per set while hitting an impressive .380 efficiency for the match. With over 450 kills on the season, the 6’0 outside hitter has the ability to get on the ball with a high elbow and heavy contact to bring the ball to the floor in a hurry. She also picked up 21 digs in the winning effort.
