The 5’11 lefty right-side hitter for the Falcons was almost unstoppable today against Valle Catholic. With 26 kills on .389 hitting, she guided her team to its first State Championship appearance. The Falcons will need more of this from Bax but more offense from others to get the title.

Sydney Handel Sydney Handel 5'10" | OH Lee's Summit West | 2022 State MO (2022) | Lee’s Summit West
I knew this match with Rock Bridge would come down to outside hitters, and Sydney got the better tonight, putting down 20 kills on .429 hitting. The Titans will need her to be on fire again in tomorrow’s championship match with Cor Jesu.
Gretchen Olson (2022) | Cor Jesu Academy
The 6’2 middle came alive today in the semifinal win over St. Dominic, getting nine kills on .615 hitting and five stuff blocks. The Chargers will need another tremendous performance from Olson to take the title over Lee’s Summit West. Middle play tomorrow will be a crucial piece in the game as the Titans middles only recorded five kills between them.
