Now, let’s take a look at Premier 17 Black!
Tournament Success
This roster is full of players that excelled on the postseason stage on the high school side.
Grace Baumert Grace Baumert 6'2" | OH Howells-Dodge | 2023 State NE is an exciting outside hitter who is making the move to Premier after winning a Class D1 championship with Howells-Dodge this year. Her physicality and tournament experience will be a welcomed addition to this squad.
17 Black will also have representatives from both teams that appeared in the Class A championship match this fall. Papio South’s Shealie Wiebers is on this Premier squad after playing in plenty of big matches at the opposite position for the Titans. She will join forces with the setter for Class A runner-up Millard West, Skylar Walters Skylar Walters 5'9" | S Millard West | 2023 State NE . This athletic Wildcat standout will have another great chance to lead this group to more big-time wins.
We’ve got even more high school champions in this group. Hailey Kiscoan emerged as a major contributor for Omaha Skutt Catholic as the SkyHawks claimed their seventh consecutive title. Anna Weberg is another player on that championship squad that could have a breakout club campaign with 17 Black.
Omaha Metro Stars
This roster pulls a majority of its talent from the Omaha-Council Bluffs area. It’s a proven way to win.
The defensive specialist spot is particularly stacked with Omaha talent. Kaelyn Andersen, Audrey Behrens Audrey Behrens 5'6" | S Omaha Westside | 2023 State NE , Caitlin McCormack Caitlin McCormack 5'8" | OH Millard North | 2023 State NE , and Alison Butler all figure to be backcourt standouts for 17 Black. These athletes have plenty of experience against the state’s top high school teams, and that should translate to success in the winter and spring.
Middle blocker is a similarly strong spot for this squad. Azaria Green Azaria Green 6'0" | MB Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln | 2023 State IA makes the hop across the Missouri River to play for Premier, and she’s just had a breakout year for Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln. Lily Snodgrass Lily Snodgrass 5'11" | MB Duchesne | 2023 State NE also returns to the middle and has already proven to be a formidable force at the net for this club. That’s not going to change any time soon.
In all, this is a group that can make some serious noise on the national stage.
