A look at the list, and you will see most of them hit significant milestones in their high school careers. 1000+ digs, 1000+kills, and 2000+ assists round out a solid group of 2022s. One 2022 is hanging up her volleyball shoes for basketball but could be a dual-sport athlete in college.
16. Annie Arand Annie Arand 5'8" | DS/L St. Francis Borgia | 2022 State MO | Borgia/Missouri S&T
Not sure if Arand will be a setter or play libero for the Miners, but she excels in either position. She ends a spectacular high school career with three final four berths, state championship, 2086 assists, and 1084 digs and reaching the 2000 assists plateau running the offense her last two years. Either way, this goes; the Miners picked up an excellent volleyball player.
22. Tevi Gurley Tevi Gurley 5'10" | OH El Dorado Springs | 2022 State MO | El Dorado Springs/Drury
The 5’10 dual-sport standout for the Bulldogs stepped onto the volleyball court four years ago and never let up. Part of a successful high school volleyball and basketball program, Gurley finished her volleyball career with 1696 assists, 924 digs, and 1121 kills. She excelled as a right-side hitter and setter and could do both at Drury.
30. Reese Schaaf Reese Schaaf 5'10" | RS El Dorado Springs | 2022 State MO || El Dorado Springs/Drury-Basketball
Another Bulldog on the list and combo to Tevi Gurley Tevi Gurley 5'10" | OH El Dorado Springs | 2022 State MO on the right-side/setter position. She ends her volleyball career with 1575 assists, 1015 digs, and 1158 kills but takes her basketball game to Drury. The Drury volleyball coach might want to sneak this one on the court before her four years are up.
31. Lia Graham Lia Graham 5'3" | DS/L Plattsburgh | 2022 State MO | Plattsburg/Missouri Western
5’3 outside hitter for Plattsburg will head off to play defense for the Griffons. An athletic volleyball player that’s no stranger to playing tremendous defense ended her career with 1246 digs.
35. Isabella Reynolds Isabella Reynolds 6'0" | MB Smithville | 2022 State MO | Smithville/William Jewell
A powerful middle hitter will stay close to home and play for the Cardinals, and what a pick-up it is for William Jewell. At 6’0, she will be an asset on day one for the Cardinals and could play either pin position or stay in the middle. Her passion for the game will spread to her new teammates, and once they see her fly and smash, they will be thrilled she is on their side of the net.
52. Payton Mitchell Payton Mitchell 5'6" | DS/L Blair Oaks | 2022 State MO | Blair Oaks/Washburn
She is one of my favorite liberos from the state tournament. Not a flashy player but does her job exceptionally well. Solid defender and backcourt quarterback helped her high school to its first final four and state championship this season and reached the 1000 digs plateau. Heads off to play for the Ichabod’s, and court time should come her first season.
78. Alexis Arnel Alexis Arnel 5'5" | DS/L Howell Central | 2022 State MO | Howell Central/Truman State
Libero for the Spartans finished her career with 1094 digs and anchored the defense for the last three years. She reads the ball well, has quick feet, and commands the backcourt. Should help the Bulldogs with passing and defense next year and eventually head up the defense.
89. Avery McVicker Avery McVicker 5'7" | OH Cameron | 2022 State MO | Cameron/Missouri Western
The 5’6 jumping jack helped lead her high school team to its best finish ever, and now she will try and do the same for the Griffons. She has completed a career at Cameron with 1198 kills and 1094 digs and left the school as the best volleyball player ever, earning All-State. Look for Avery to be more a defender at Missouri Western, but she could fill right in if they need another weapon.
