Here’s a group of stock risers to follow from our Class of 2023 rankings update!
Abby Wachal Abby Wachal 5'10" | OH Lincoln Lutheran | 2023 State NE – 5’10 OH – Lincoln Lutheran
It’s impossible to ignore what Wachal accomplished this fall, especially when a championship was on the line. She bursts into our top five after a magical run in the state tournament that helped Lincoln Lutheran win it all.
Skylar Walters Skylar Walters 5'9" | S Millard West | 2023 State NE – 5’9 S – Millard West
Walters was a consistent, steady leader when she took the reins of the Millard West offense in 2021. Expect those traits to come into focus again as she makes the transition to the club season.
Ivy Leuck Ivy Leuck 5'8" | S Skutt Catholic | 2023 State NE – 5’8 S/RS/DS – Omaha Skutt Catholic
There were a lot of Skutt players who put their versatility on display this fall, and Leuck is one of those from the brilliant SkyHawk 2023 class. She’s going to be fun to watch this winter regardless of which position she plays.
Brooklyn Fuchs Brooklyn Fuchs 6'2" | MB Lincoln East | 2023 State NE – 6’1 MB – Lincoln East
Fuchs had a breakout season full of a lot of highlight moments at Lincoln East, and now she has a great opportunity to shine with Premier 17 Gold. This middle blocker is only just beginning to climb the ladder.
Emily Huss Emily Huss 6'5" | MB Fairbury | 2023 State NE – 6’5 MB – Fairbury
Huss is a small-town talent who is going to have a great chance to stand out in the club season. The Omaha commit provides a huge presence at the net and also helps demonstrate the wide geographical footprint of Nebraska’s hidden gems.
Kara Kassebaum Kara Kassebaum 6'0" | RS Waverly | 2023 State NE – 6’0 RS – Waverly
Don’t overlook how important Kassebaum’s progression was in lifting Waverly to a Class B semifinal appearance this year. She’s a natural opposite who will be an important factor in the VCNebraska gym this year.
Kailey Hrbek Kailey Hrbek 6'2" | MB Elkhorn North | 2023 State NE – 6’2 MB – Elkhorn North
It seems like everyone in the Elkhorn North lineup is on the rise with the way that team was playing at the end of the year. Hrbek helped anchor a very physical frontcourt for the Wolves and will be there to push North one step further in 2022.
Addison Corr Addison Corr 5'9" | OH Norfolk Catholic | 2023 State NE – 5’9 OH – Norfolk Catholic
Corr’s emergence as a go-to attacker for Norfolk Catholic was fun to watch. Better yet, the Knights will have an experienced, balanced roster next year that will surely be in good shape to make another postseason appearance.
Amelia Roth Amelia Roth 6'0" | MB Omaha Marian | 2023 State NE – 6’0 MB – Omaha Marian
Marian has a great collection of young players that can help the program make a big jump next season. Roth fits right into this group, as she has the size and the quickness to be a force against some of the state’s top teams.
Rebecca Baker Rebecca Baker 5'9" | S Bergan | 2023 State NE – 5’9 S – Archbishop Bergan
