Some of the athletes listed may have played multiple positions on the court, but we have chosen them for the positions that we think they excelled at the most.
We are proud to announce our Second Team All State in this article series. We will be posting a few athletes at a time in order to give enough credit to each player. We are very proud of each player and everyone who helped them reach their goals this year. These players are being picked due to their individual performance on their teams this high school season. This next article in this series is devoted to the Outsides. These two young ladies are our picks for 2nd Team All- State.
2nd Team All State Selection: Outside
Bella Wakley Bella Wakley 6'0" | OH Victory Christian | 2022 State OK [2022] 6-0 Outside (HS: Victory Christian/Club: Oklahoma Peak Performance/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Bella is currently ranked as our 5th best overall prospect and the 2nd best outside in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is one of the lethal attackers for Victory Christian High School and one of the best club teams in the Sooner state at Oklahoma Peak Performance. We profiled her earlier this year and here is a little from the article, “Bella regularly scores in double digits for her high school squad and is poised for a monster senior season this year. She has that “it” factor on the court and her teammates thrive off of her hard driven kills. Miss Wakley can score from any area of the court and routinely finishes the rally even from out of system sets. She is a true six rotation outside hitter and I have been talking to all of my college coaching associates about her. We are very pleased to have her in our Prep Dig Family and cannot wait to see what she does this year in both high school and club.” Her high school season was amazing as she led Victory Christian to a 4A State Championship. Victory Christian finished with an amazing 35-3 overall record and Bella is one of the main reasons why. She had another stellar year and this is why we have chosen her for our publication’s inaugural All-State award. Please help us congratulate her on the amazing achievement of being named 2nd Team All-State
2nd Team All State Selection: Outside
Beth Bayless Beth Bayless 6'1" | OH Regent Preparatory | 2022 State OK [2022] 6-1 Left Side (HS: Regent Prep/Club: Club ONE/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Beth is currently ranked as our 10th best overall prospect and the 3rd best left side in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is the main offensive weapon for Regent Preparatory School and one of the best club teams in the Sooner state in the 17’s age group in Club ONE. We profiled her earlier last summer when we launched the website and here is what we stated, “She has been a named one of the best players in her area this past high school season by numerous publications in the Oklahoma area. She helped her high school team to a 16-7 overall record and a 5-2 district record. The six rotation outside hitter truly utilizes her upswing to gain momentum and hits with a ton of power on the left side pin. Her down swing is one of the fiercest in her age group as she hits the ball very violently for a kill. There are very few blockers who can stop her in high school so when they attempt to slow her down, she then will throw in a tip or a off-speed shot to fool the defense. It is this kind of offense that helps her tally double-digit kills per match consistently. We are very excited to cover her against the best teams in the nation this week.” We watched her in the summer at nationals and also covered her during the high school season. Beth helped Regent Prep reach the State Championship match this past season as they ended up as second in the entire state. They ended up with a 40-8 overall record and she is a huge reason why. She had another fantastic year and this is why we have chosen her for our publication’s inaugural All-State award. Please help us congratulate her on the amazing achievement of being named 2nd Team All-State.
