There’s a lot of exciting potential in this group. These players are just beginning their prep careers, so there’s a lot of time for further development and for new standouts to emerge. We’ve also had one 2025 featured already in our look at impact pin hitters from the event.
Now, here are a few more 2025s that have already caught our eye after a morning in Grimes.
Kennedy DeBaillie – 5’6 DS/L – Orion
DeBaillie had one of the most solid platforms of any defensive specialist at the event, so it was easy to forget that she just finished her freshman year with Orion. Her stock will only continue to rise, and that ascent starts with Iowa Select this winter.
AshleeKay Christensen – 5’10 OH – Carlisle
Christensen is another name to follow in a vast collection of physical 2025 pin hitters that we saw in Grimes. This Carlisle product has some great all-around skills, too, and she’ll put those on display in the Ignit gym throughout the upcoming club season.
Maddie Chapman – 5’9 S – Dowling Catholic
Here’s another player that will have a chance to prove herself with one of Iowa’s top high school volleyball programs. Chapman has a mature feel for tempo and location — two traits that could help make her a future leader in the Iowa prep scene.
Reagan Hanfelt – 5’11 MB – Ankeny
We definitely have to include at least one middle blocker in this feature, because this event was stacked with good ones. Hanfelt has a chance to carry on the tradition of high-impact middles from the Ankeny area.
Hadley Hardersen – 5’10 S – Des Moines Christian
Hardersen was a major freshman contributor for a Des Moines Christian team that found plenty of success in 2021. After a great showing in Grimes last weekend, her role within this powerhouse program will surely keep growing.
Ella Rogers – 6’1 S – Dowling Catholic
We’ve got another Dowling product to talk about here. Rogers is an impressive athlete with hands that can push the ball anywhere around the court. She might even have some front-row attacking reps in her future. Regardless of position, Rogers is going to stand out many more times before her prep career is done.
