Diving into a positional breakdown of the class of 2024 setters, I look to highlight three athletes who managed to catch my eye in performances in previous showcases.
Milica Tomic

Tomic stands at 5’8″ and she carries herself as a setter well and has a very diverse playing personality when she steps out on the court. During her 6 on 6 scrimmage, Tomic managed to catch my eye with the nice, softs sets she has and how she works with the rotation of hitters and her defense is outstanding. Tomic is without a doubt an rising athlete and considerably I look forward to her progression throughout the season. Tomic was watched from the beginning of the showcase to the end, with her outstanding performances with her 6 on 6 and during her positional breakdown drills. Tomic is going to be an athlete to look out for.
Zaria Keys– Chicago Elite
Keys sets herself aside from other athletes with her ability to be very diverse in her athletic skills and her consistency. Keys stands at 5’6″ and her height is one that does not set her back when it comes to her actively getting into her grove on the court. I have had the ability to closely watch Keys over the last few months and watching her development as a setter and defensive player has grown and progressed. Keys has given herself the ability to become an elite athlete and continues to out prove herself every time she steps out on the court. Keys is an all around athlete and between her ability to work with different skill sets of other athletes and the ability to adjust with new players she may have not ben familiar wit, which is important.
Reilly Garrity– Adversity VBC
The 5’11” setter is different from most of her other fellow setters and that difference is going to start with her height. Garrity is primarily a setter, but is a very diverse athlete from what I have been able to witness. Through her swing alone, Garrity has a very nice swing which allows for her to play in other positions if needed. As a setter, she has nice serves and accommodates each one of her serves with the hitters, considering her height and their approach to the net. Garrity is going to be an athlete to continue watching, as she continues to develop throughout the remainder of this season.
