There was a lot of talent to be seen in the middle. Oozing with athleticism and potential, these players could be some of the biggest names in the 15s division by the end of the season. And they’re just getting started.
Here were some of the biggest towers in the middle in the 15 Open at JVA’s Rock N Rumble.
Sierra Evans (2025) | 6’1 MB | Metro VBC
She’s already good, but she has the potential to be amazing. Sierra Evans was a definite standout at Rock N Rumble for obvious reasons. Her size and athleticism really propel her far above the rest. Evans is a technically sound attacker and blocker, and by time this season concludes, she may be considered one of the best.
Kristen Moore (2025) | 6’2 MB | Metro VBC
This duo of Evans and Kirsten Moore is going to be terrorizing this 2025 group for years to come. Moore is another athletic middle for Metro that is already showing some eye-popping performances. One of the top blockers in Cleveland, Moore put up a wall at the net which is aided by her sense of the opponent’s offense. Her block was all over the opposing attackers.
Jessica Costlow Jessica Costlow 5'11" | OH SMCC | 2025 State #142 Nation MI (2025) | 5’10 MB/OH | Michigan Elite
Don’t be surprised to see this star shift over to one of the pins in the near future, but for now, she’s causing problems in the middle. Jessica Costlow Jessica Costlow 5'11" | OH SMCC | 2025 State #142 Nation MI was very versatile and an unsung hero for Michigan Elite. Costlow puts up a considerable block at the net and she ran an array of routes along the net. Playing six rotations, she was utilized in many different spaces and delivered quite nicely.
Olivia Grenadier Olivia Grenadier 6'1" | MB Country Day | 2025 State #91 Nation MI (2025) | 6’1 MB | Legacy
Another up-and-comer who has already shown so much upside, Olivia Grenadier Olivia Grenadier 6'1" | MB Country Day | 2025 State #91 Nation MI had a great showing at Rock N Rumble. Grenadier is a springy kid who attacks very well off two feet in front of the setter. A new weapon up her sleeve is a very promising slide attack that was looking pretty effective.
Shanese Williams (2025) | 5’8 MB | Munciana
The undersized one of the bunch, she plays just as big, if not bigger, than the rest. Shanese Williams has some athletic prowess to her game that kicks her play up a couple notches. Williams has some quick reaction time and she’s fast off of the ground. She made some great block touches and was ripping some impressive angles out of the middle.
Lilly Howell Lilly Howell 6'2" | MB Muncie Burris | 2025 State IN (2025) | 6’2 MB | Munciana
This Munciana Lorax duo is vastly different in how they play, but it makes for one effective 1-2 punch. Lilly Howell Lilly Howell 6'2" | MB Muncie Burris | 2025 State IN is an imposing presence in the middle. She’s a big kid that puts up a great block. Howell has a lot of muscle behind her swing, she was putting a ball down with heat and was always an option in transition.

Auroya Brown (2025) | 6’0 MB | Renaissance
Renaissance may have a really good one on their hands. Auroya Brown has loads of potential and she’s already pretty impressive. With some eye-popping hops and a high contact, Brown was pretty efficient on the scoring front. She’s quick and made some pretty good reads on the block. Brown is player that by end of 2022 could make some impressive rumbling nationally.
