Some early tournaments were played in December and they gave us a nice warm-up for what’s ahead but the bulk of the season really starts now and we’re about to start watching the most exciting prospects of the state in nearly a weekly basis.
Everyone has their favorite players to follow or watch and this week we’ll try to offer new options during this week, pointing out players who could be poised for a fantastic club season based on what they recently did for their high school teams.
In the final part of our series, we’ll present you some outside hitters you should keep an eye on:
Ellie Marble – Club: North Pacific Juniors – HS: La Conner – 2023
Ellie Marble’s high school career has been on the spotlights since day one due to her tremendous potential, but the six-foot outside hitter took things to another level this past season, guiding La Conner to win the State Championship while earning the Player of the Year award along the way. Marble is the perfect definition of a two-way player as she excels on both ends of the court and that was clearer than ever this past season, when she tallied 521 kills, 491 digs and 306 passes to go with 77 aces. She has moved to a new club in North Pacific Juniors and it will be exciting to see how well she does with them.
Jenna Legault Jenna Legault 5'11" | OH Bothell | 2022 WA – Club: Sudden Impact – HS: Bothell – 2022
Jenna Legault Jenna Legault 5'11" | OH Bothell | 2022 WA is another player who is set to enter the club season full of confidence after she led her high school team Bothell to a State Championship title and was selected at the Player of the Year. Legault also impacts the game on both sides of the ball and was instrumental to Bothell’s success this past season with season totals of 478 kills, 400 digs, 404 passes and 75 aces. The six-footer is part of one of the strongest clubs in the state in Sudden Impact and should have all the tools to perform just as dominantly in the club season.
Ella Ensign Ella Ensign 5'8" | OH Curtis | 2023 State WA – Club: DaKine Warriors – HS: Curtis – 2023
Ella Ensign Ella Ensign 5'8" | OH Curtis | 2023 State WA is also part of the club of the “outside hitters who can do-it-all in a volleyball court”. One of the top beach volleyball players in her age group in the entire country, the 5’8” prospect carries the great all-around game to the wooden courts and performs as a key player for her high school team Curtis. This past season, she tallied 480 kills, 338 digs and 412 passes on her way to make it to the Washington Coaches Association All-State first team. She’s an important player for the strong DaKine Warriors program out of the Seattle area.
