BOILER JUNIORS 15 GOLD
For the top 15s team in the Boiler Juniors stable, there is no shortage of volleyball talent. There are state champions, national champions, and high volleyball IQs all over the roster. Raegan Durbin Raegan Durbin 5'10" | OH Western Boone | 2025 State #89 Nation IN (’25, 5-10 OH, Western Boone) fits into the latter category, as she can do pretty much anything you ask a six-rotation outside to do. Hammer away? Sure. Tool the block? No problem. Take more court in serve receive? Absolutely. Her volleyball acumen is through the roof, and should be the glue that holds this squad together. Taylor Cripe Taylor Cripe 5'10" | OH South Newton | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-9 OH, South Newton) is the other outside for this group, and the volleyball gods blessed her with a thunderbolt for an arm. The ball just sounds different coming off of her hand, and her upper body strength is clearly ahead of most in this, or any, graduating class. Stella Terpening Stella Terpening 6'2" | MB Westfield | 2025 State IN (’25, 6-0 MB, Westfield) can control the middle, both offensively and defensively, and her ability to terminate from multiple areas makes her hard to defend. Reanna Lee Reanna Lee 5'11" | MB McCutcheon | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-11 MB, McCutcheon) is one of multiple kids on this roster with a state title on their mantle, and her team-first attitude and discipline to make the correct play guide her success. Finally, Sofia Windmiller Sofia Windmiller 5'9" | S Danville | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-9 S, Danville) and Kaitlyn Kuckkan Kaitlyn Kuckkan 5'7" | S Lafayette Central Catholic | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-8 S, Lafayette Central Catholic) gives the 15-1 a great duo of successful setters. This will be a fun team to watch.
UNION 16-1 UA
The top 16s team in Southern Indiana has its own set of top volleyball talent from both sides of the Ohio River. Looking to perhaps play multiple positions are Leigh Carnes Leigh Carnes 5'8" | OH Springs Valley | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-9 S/RS, Springs Valley) and Makenzie Wagner Makenzie Wagner 5'10" | RS Providence | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-10 S/RS, Providence). Both can run an offense, hit from the right, and defend well for their respective positions to be indispensable in whatever situation Union is in this spring. Although not clearing six feet in height, middles Bella Nottger (’24, 5-11 MB, Springs Valley) and Ellie Priddy Ellie Priddy 5'10" | MB Silver Creek | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-11 MB, Silver Creek) bring a high volleyball IQ to the fold, while being more than capable of holding their own against bigger competition. My two locked-in pins are Lilly Tappel (’24, 5-10 OH, Providence) and Lilly Kaiser (’24, 5-9 OH, Providence). Miss Tappel can hit any shot in the book, and uses the court wisely. Miss Kaiser Is more known as a defensive right side, and terminally blocks on a regular basis. Her familiarity with setter Wagner will help her development this spring.
