The event will feature four different legs between January and March and will provide a tremendous opportunity for younger prospects in the region to showcase their games as the Power League has received nearly 500 entries in each of its five divisions.
The 15 Club division is the one expected to have the highest level as several of the prospects we’ll be able to watch have already made some noise during the last high school season. We’ve been highlighting some of the prospects in the division you should keep an eye on in the days leading to the event and at this time we’ll focus on the outside hitters.
Ella Lewis – Skyline 15 Royal – HS: The Woodlands – 2025
A 5’10” outside hitter with more than enough quality to positively impact different areas of the game, Ella Lewis was part of the core of a solid The Woodlands team from day one. She had a tremendous freshman high school season with the Hilanders, ranking third in kills (403) and passes (351) and sixth in digs (197). Named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Phenom List, Lewis is just scratching the surface of her tremendous potential and expect her to make a huge leap over the next few months as part of an extremely talented and well-coached Skyline team.
Elianna Freeman – Asics Willowbrook 15 Gold – HS: Jersey Village – 2025
Elianna Freeman was one of the pillars of Jersey Village during the last high school season alongside libero Gabby Mansfield. The 5’8” freshman wasted no time in becoming the team’s go-to scoring option and ended the Falcons’ campaign with a team-high 111 kills. Her offense is very efficient and intelligent as plays very aggressively, but also knows how and when to tool the block. Her backcourt game still needs some work but she can only get better with time and high-level competition.
Taylor Porter – Skyline 15 Royal – HS: Cypress Ranch – 2025
One of the 22 Texans selected to be part of the USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program (NTDP) National Indoor Winter Training Series in the final days of 2021, Taylor Porter is undoubtedly one of the most promising players in the entire state. What makes of her such a special prospect is the rare combination of size (5’11”), technical skills and a strong mental game, which includes a lot of confidence and great volleyball IQ. Those factors led her to post huge numbers in her freshman season with Cypress Ranch, registering 380 kills, 324 digs and 347 passes.
