Both tournaments were two days long and have divisions ranging from 11s-18s. We will be focusing on just Tulsa Attack in this article, looking at how the teams from Oklahoma finished up and some of the top players.
11s– Premier 11 Diamonds finished up the tournament with only one loss and they pushed the tournament champ to three sets. They brought home 2nd place medals and a solid start the season.
12s– TPV 12-1 was an impressive team to watch. Coach Sheera Sirola and Frank Craig III have done a great job early on with this team. They went a perfect 6-0 over the two days. Look for this team to continue growing and being in the hunt for medals. Premier 12 Diamonds finished tied for 3rd with an impressive performance but losing out to TPV.
13s– Premier continued finishing high in the younger ages with their 13 Diamonds team taking 2nd overall. Virago 13-1 lost to Premier in pool play and dropped their crossover match to OC Elite 13-1 to move on to silver. They figured some things out and made it to the silver championship.

14s– The 14s division was dominated by Oklahoma teams. The final four teams in the gold bracket were all from Oklahoma. TPV 14-1, Peak 14-2, TPV 14-2 and Premier 14 Diamonds made for good matches in the semifinals. Peak and TPV met in the championship, where TPV continued to be a team that does well from the service line. Peak did a great job of pushing the match to three sets with their hustle and tough play. TPV eventually won 15-10 in the final set. Virago 14-2 lost two matches to Premier Diamonds and TPV 14-2 in pool play before rattling off three straight wins on Sunday to bring home medals for Virago.

15s– The 15s division had another strong showing from the Oklahoma region teams. After winning the ORU Early Bird Tournament in December, Rise 15-1 got right back to work. They went undefeated in pool play and won 2nd in the gold bracket, losing only to Premier 15 Diamonds. Rise plays some really good defense, has a few strong servers, and a six-rotation OH that can make plays from anywhere on the court. This makes for strong team that will be in the hunt in most every tournament. Premier 15 Diamonds took the 3rd set 15-10. Premier also looked very solid. They have an impressive setter who plays for Choctaw High School. I see her being a starter next season for the Yellowjackets. She is athletic, left handed, and can move the ball all over the net. Pair that with a middle and outside that could both put the ball away in various ways, that is definitely a recipe for success. Virago 15-1 went 4-1 for the tournament led by a solid serve/serve receive performance. UPVBC 15 Black went undefeated on Sunday to capture the silver championship.

16s– Crush 16-1 went a perfect 6-0 but they had to earn in the gold bracket championship, 16-14 in the 3rd set. Code Blue 16 Shock finished tied for 3rd with Stingray VBA 16 Adidas. Muskogee 16-1 took home the silver championship over SWATVBC 16-1. All but the 2nd place finisher was an Oklahoma region team in the 16s division.
Crush 16-1
17s– TPV 15-1 played up into the 17s division but it didn’t slow them down. We wrote about this team being something very special and this is the kind of thing they are capable of doing. They took home the 17s gold bracket championship. OKPWP 17-1 pushed TPV but finished tied for 3rd. There is no shortage of talent for these teams. Evyn Morrow, a DS from PWP, and Izzy Wilson played well during their matchup with TPV. Arriana Brown from TPV is a special player, only an 8th grader, but beating juniors and seniors on a regular. Juliana Borchers and Ava Wilson really hammered some some balls throughout this tournament. Stingray VBA 17 Select took home the silver championship.

18s– Some late drops left this division with seven teams. Virago 18-1 finished runner up with only one loss on the weekend, followed by SWATVBC 18-1 and Premier 17 Diamonds tied for 3rd place. Virago had a nice run led by players like Jacelyn Smith Jacelyn Smith 5'9" | MB Charles Page | 2022 State OK , Olivia Dewitt Olivia Dewitt 5'5" | DS/L Charles Page | 2023 State OK and Audrey Foster.

Tulsa Attack was overall a solid tournament and a lot of team’s first tournament on the year. Teams and players will keep working hard and developing as the season progresses.
