Redland Rendezvous – 16 Open – Oklahoma Peak Performance 16-1
In this article:
Redland Rendezvous is a prestigious tourney that happens every year in Oklahoma City and has over 250 teams from Oklahoma, Texas and other surrounding states. It is a great opportunity to get some quality reps in the early part of the season against some tough competition. Most of the teams have just been practicing and this is their first chance to work on their lineups and others have competed in one tournament prior to this. We were able to watch some amazing action over the course of the weekend and will be writing a few articles on some teams and players that showcased their skills. The next article will be on the 16 Open Division and Oklahoma Peak Performance’s 16-1 team.
These players have been on our watch list for the high school season and we will be unveiling our updated rankings with them in it in a few weeks. Stay tuned to see where they fall on the rankings. As far as the tourney is concerned, OP2 16-1 came in ranked as the second seed overall in the Open division.
This team came in ranked second in the tourney to start it off and showed exactly why throughout the entire weekend. They were down a significant piece of their puzzle as one of the 6-2 setters Katherine Rowe had rolled her ankle the week prior at practice. It is not a serious injury so she will be back in no time to get them to full strength. They are led by two amazing attackers that are getting tons of college interest. Left side phenom Landry Braziel Landry Braziel 6'0" | OH Community Christian | 2024 State OK can play at the 18 Open level if she wanted to in my opinion and that is why we have her ranked as the best player in her grad class. She joins this team this year and has made an immediate impact. Her counterpart on the left side is six foot one banger Curry Kendall Curry Kendall 6'1" | OH Bishop Kelley | 2024 State OK , who we have ranked as our second best overall player in the gifted graduating class. Those two hitters on the same team this year will make some serious noise on their way to nationals. Setter Madison Hathaway Madison Hathaway 5'10" | RS Edmond Memorial | 2024 State OK is a lengthy athletic player who can dish it out with the best of them. Her sets are very repeatable and she can change tempos with ease. Super athletic Libero Megan Branson Megan Branson 5'5" | DS/L Edmond Santa Fe | 2024 State OK ’s movement and court vision make her stand apart from other liberos in the grad class and we cannot wait to add her to the rankings in a few weeks. Someone who I was very excited to see in person was Parker Gladhill Parker Gladhill 5'11" | MB Norman North | 2024 State OK . This gifted middle has all of the tools you want in a lightning fast dominant middle. She could easily play on any front row position due to her superior athleticism and she jumps out of the gym. I loved what I have seen on Parker’s film when I analyzed her play, but in person she was deadly. She is someone who I will be talking to college coaches about for sure.
Once OP2 is at full strength they will be a tough out for anyone. They are my pick to be the best in the Oklahoma Region in their age group. They play great perimeter defense and stay in system well. We will be watching them progress very closely. We will be highlighting more of their high-level roster as the season continues.
We will be updating our State Rankings List over the next four weeks. Check out our postings as they will come out every week. See where your favorite Oklahoma volleyball players fall on the List.
