There are still plenty of great athletes from the Class of 2023 that are still navigating their college recruitment. You can bet that this is a big recruiting weekend for college teams of all levels, so we’re ramping up our coverage accordingly.
Here are some Nebraska 2023s who will be competing close to home in Omaha.
Ivy Leuck Ivy Leuck 5'8" | S Skutt Catholic | 2023 State NE – 5’9 DS/S/RS – Premier 17 Gold
I’ve always lauded Leuck’s ability to do just about anything on the volleyball court. She really is the quintessential utility player. Leuck can hit on the right side, set, or play in a traditional defensive specialist role. She can even swap roles from one set to another. Anything to win.
Stella Adeyemi Stella Adeyemi 5'9" | OH Papillion-LaVista South | 2023 State #95 Nation NE – 5’10 OH – Premier 17 Gold
Adeyemi is undoubtedly one of the most exciting uncommitted athletes that Nebraska has. She’s the definition of an effortless flyer, and her terminal arm helped lift Papillion-La Vista South to an undefeated record last fall. Now, Adeyemi has a chance to find more success with a similarly stacked club squad.
Jocelyn Healy Jocelyn Healy 5'8" | DS/L Omaha Westside | 2023 State NE – 5’8 DS/L – Nebraska Elite 17 Vici
Don’t let anyone overlook the vital role that Healy played in helping Omaha Westside achieve historic success last fall. This defensive specialist/setter hybrid can lock down any zone on the court, and I’m excited to watch Healy’s development continue.
Amelia Roth Amelia Roth 6'0" | MB Omaha Marian | 2023 State NE – 6’0 MB/RS – Nebraska Elite 17 Vici
Roth is going to be a huge part of 17 Vici’s efforts to slow down some lethal attackers across the net this weekend. This Omaha Marian athlete provides some impressive length at the net, so physicality will certainly not be an issue when Nebraska Elite takes the court.
Lily Snodgrass Lily Snodgrass 5'11" | MB Duchesne | 2023 State NE – 6’0 MB/RS – Premier 17 Black
Here’s yet another middle blocker to follow from the Omaha area. Snodgrass plays her fall ball at a thriving Duchesne program that has seen the biggest stages that Nebraska has to offer. This talanted middle blocker uses that experience with 17 Black and is one of the core leaders of that team.
Kaelyn Andersen – 5’4 DS/L – Premier 17 Black
A lot of praise was given to Premier 17 Black for their scrappy play at the Midwest Power League, and Andersen is one of those players that can make those big defensive contributions. She’s a relentless backcourt defender who can take command of the libero jersey with ease.
Sophia Turek – 5’8 OH/DS – Nebraska ONE 17 Black
This rising all-around player from Seward is definitely one to keep on your radar. Turek’s quickness and agility are huge assets when she’s in the back row, but she can also use that athleticism to hammer balls from the left pin. 2022 will be a big year.
Jaelyn Dicke – 5’7 OH/DS – Nebraska ONE 17 Black
Dicke possess many of the same skills as Turek, and she has also experienced plenty of high-pressure matches on the high school side with Waverly. Whether she’s attacking in the frontcourt or playing stout defense along the endline, Dicke will find a way to make an impact.
