These two return for a team that has good depth of talent and a lot of potential to have a big season. They will share the setting duties as well as see time in other phases of the game as they both have good size and versatility. Venard (St. Ursula/Ohio) is 5’11 and continues to improve her movement around the floor to get to the ball on balance and with high hand contact to deliver the full range of the court. McCloskey (Notre Dame Academy/KY) is dynamic. At 6’1, she is athletic and also has shown a lot of progress in the setting phase. She is a force offensively at the net as well as she can elevate and use her length well to bring good power off of her arm. Keep an eye on this team over the next several weeks.

Barrick was a huge factor in CHCA’s deep postseason run as she led the Eagles offensively with approximately 300 kills on the season. She is currently one of the most explosive pin hitters in the 2025 class in Ohio as she gets off the floor fast and has good arm speed at the peak of her jump to terminate with power. She was a 1st team selection in the Miami Valley Conference this past fall high school season as the Eagles finished 11-1 in league play after averaging 3.5 kills per set, hitting at a .252 efficiency, and terminating 44% of her attempts.
