Kansas Spoil of Riches in the Setting Position (2024/2025)
When we talk about the setter position, Kansas is full of young, amazing talent. Here are some of the players we’ve kept our eye on this winter. These are athletes who compete for Kansas-based teams.
Janelle Green Janelle Green 5'9" | S Blue Valley North | 2024 State #68 Nation KS – 2024 – KC Power
Green continues to live up to the hype from the setter position. Great court awareness and volleyball IQ, she doesn’t try to do too much and puts her team in a position to be successful every rally.
Camdyn Stucky Camdyn Stucky 6'1" | S Maize South | 2024 State #97 Nation KS – 2024 – Shockwave
Every coach loves an athletic setter with good size and that’s what you get with Stucky. She is a difference-maker on the floor and competes at a high level. She is a strong blocker and used her length well.
Ava Martin Ava Martin 5'10" | S Bishop Miege | 2024 State #77 Nation KS – 2024 – Dynasty
Martin shows a level of poise on the floor you don’t see in all young players. She has great ball placement and soft hands. She has displayed a strong defensive presence from the back row.
Kelsey Schenck Kelsey Schenck 5'11" | S St. Thomas Aquinas | 2024 State KS – 2024 – Mavs KC
Schenck made a big leap last year during a strong post-season run and has kept that momentum going in 2022. She has exhibited a skill set that is even more improved this season. She is another player who will continue to flourish with the level of competition.
Logan Parks Logan Parks 5'11" | S Blue Valley North | 2025 State #8 Nation KS – 2025 – Mavs KC
Many consider Parks the top player in the class in the state. Her ability to set and swing from the pin has college coaches chomping on their bits to recruit her in the years to come. She has great size and plays way more maturely than her age.
Lily Wedman Lily Wedman 5'8" | S Blue Valley West | 2025 State KS – 2025 – Mavs KC
We didn’t know as much about Wedman until she took over the reins of the defending Class 6A state champions and led them back to the state tournament. She made her coaches look like geniuses inserting her into the starting lineup and leading an experienced team. She hasn’t disappointed this winter with her great play.
Emma Christian – 2025 – Dynasty
Christian had played up previously but stayed down with her year this winter and it has paid off as her play has been amongst the top in her class locally. She is a player looking accomplished running the show for a very good Dynasty 15’s team.
