Through this year’s event coverage and other team spotlights, we’ve been able to just scratch the surface of how deep this state’s Class of 2025 really is. This is something we’ll keep highlighting as the year goes on — and for many more years to come.
So, let’s keep the 2025 train rolling with Premier Nebraska 15 Gold. I’ve now had the opportunity to see this team live in both a Power League setting as well as Triple Crown NIT against top teams from around the country. 15 Gold has a handful of players who have already made a splash in their high school debuts, and that momentum is carrying into the club season.
This is Premier Nebraska 15 Gold.
Frontcourt Firepower
Let’s start with the players who get it done along the net.
Yesterday, we gave a shoutout to a couple of 15 Gold’s middle blockers in our 2025 feature. Elle Heckenlively Elle Heckenlively 5'10" | OH Gretna | 2025 State NE is especially efficient behind the setter and is quickly developing one of the best slides in the 2025 class. Hayden Hart has also been making some major contributions in the middle and has the size and strength to compete with anyone across the net.
15 Gold features a couple of other “flex” players that have been impressive at multiple frontcourt positions. Madelyn Roenfeld immediately comes to mind, as she has shown that she can thrive in the middle or at opposite. Her aggressive arm swing suits either spot.
We also have to include Abbie Hagedorn Abbie Hagedorn 5'11" | RS Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2025 State NE in this conversation. Her high-flying style can be seen at a couple of different places across the front row, and it’s hard to say which position works best. She elevates so well in front of the setter but can bring the same heat on the right side. It’s players like this that define 15 Gold’s flexibility and versatility.
Doing It All
The versatility doesn’t stop there. As we go through the rest of this roster, you’re going to find even more athletes who strive to contribute in any way possible.
Brooke Larsen is a great example. She’s found herself in a classic setter/opposite role with 15 Gold and brings a perfect mixture of finesse and power for both roles. Meanwhile, Charlee Solomon Charlee Solomon 5'9" | S Papillion-La Vista South | 2025 State NE takes care of the setting duties across from Larsen in the rotation, and Solomon’s floor defense makes her a constant asset in the backcourt.
Of course, 15 Gold can choose to run a 5-1 with any of its setters, too. Isabel Campie Isabel Campie 5'7" | S Omaha Marian | 2025 State NE has plenty of experience in the role and can even become a frontcourt attacker when the time is right. Options at the setter position are limitless.
Multi-talented players can also be found on the left pin. Shay Heaney Shay Heaney 6'2" | OH Elkhorn North | 2025 State NE is coming off a huge first season with Elkhorn North last fall and does just about anything you can ask of an outside hitter. Her passing and back-row defense always keep her on the floor, and she owns every bit of her big role.
Chloe Livingston is also having a breakout season on the outside. She can hold down her chunk of the court in serve receive and is skilled at passing to attack. Don’t tell her she’s undersized, either, because she can elevate and bring the heat as well as anybody.
In the backcourt, Charleston Hernandez is always around to lock down the middle back area of the court. She works well in tandem with Rya Borer, a libero who is rocketing up the 2025 leaderboard with her tremendous defensive instincts and consistent first contact. Clearly, everything is in place for Premier 15 Gold to continue its ascent as 2022 moves along.
