With MEQs this past weekend and the upcoming Adidas showcase in April, some of these names are either going to be fairly new or have made break through performances early on in their career to make name for themselves.
Delaney Molloy Delaney Molloy 5'6" | DS/L Belvidere | 2024 State IL – Mission VBC
Molloy is a very competitive and not afraid to meet the ball at the floor board with her ability to move quick to the ground and getting right back up into all the action. Putting up roughly 400 digs and 443 serve receptions, Molloy is on a roll to making a name for herself on the court and at the eyes of her opponents when it comes to her defensive skills.
Hannah Langton– VC United
Langton is a very valuable and key component to the wins for her teams with her ability to work the ball well across the court and the ability to dig into the floor when needed. Langton has both a defensive tactic, but works well with her team offensively and makes for a reliable specialist. Standout performances by Langton come from overall athleticism on the court and lack of fear to make a few slaps to the face when it comes to reflecting the ball.
Hanna Matarelli- High Performance STL
What I like most about Matarelli is her ability to stay consistent with her hits and control over the ball. Between her ball handling skills and ability incorporate her defensive skills into the mix, it makes her an important key player to her team. Matarelli is not afraid to take a hit and get low to the ground. Her ball reflection and ability to read the court makes her very diverse on the court in rotation. Matarelli has a few more seasons to go and by the time we get to her final season, she is going to have a dangerous talent up her sleeve and I am impressed to continue to watch her progress as an athlete.
Jaimie Marquardt Jaimie Marquardt 5'9" | DS/L Libertyville | 2024 State IL – Sky High Volleyball
Marquardt is a break out athlete and stood out to me with her diversity between positions on the court. She has been put in positions to play unfamiliar positions, which makes you want to have eyes on her as this proves the talent that the athlete was able to learn and develop through foundation and fundamental training. She can get low, is quick on her feet and able to read the court well and respond quickly. Getting deep into the groves of the floor boards is a speciality and has been a strong suit for Marquardt and her playing style.
