There are teams from Alaska to Texas and everything in between competing to prove just how great they are. The festivities started last night with the Showdown Showcase for hundreds of College coaches both in person and watching on Baller TV. It was very well run and had around 190 players showcasing their amazing skill-sets. This series of articles will be to highlight those special players that stood out during the Showcase. Let’s meet those that stood out:
Isabella Andrews Isabella Andrews 5'11" | OH Samuel Clemens - Schertz TX | 2025 State TX [2025] 5-10 Outside/Middle (HS: Clemens/Club: South Texas Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Isabella is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but showed some great skills and has entered into our watch list for our next update with what we saw last night. She is a six-rotation pin attacker from the Central Texas area who plays at Samuel Clemens high school and also club for South Texas Volleyball Academy in the San Antonio area. She rose up last night and hit a few bombs on her court during game-play and made me watch her court a little longer. I was thoroughly impressed with her frame, strength in both her lower and upper body, and her hand contact. We will for sure be watching her over the weekend as her team competes in the tournament and looks to improve on their 18-11 record on the year. She is very versatile and can play both as a pin or even in the middle. Take a look at her this weekend and we think you will be impressed with what you see as she wowed us with her offensive skill-set.
Kiya Colvin [2024] 5-11 Middle/Right Side (HS: Owasso/Club: Ultimate Performance Volleyball Club/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Kiya is someone who we have had on our watch list already at Prep Dig Oklahoma. She should have no problem being listed in the State Rankings when we update them in a few months. She is a solid middle who plays at Owasso high school and also club for the up and coming Ultimate Performance Volleyball Club. This stud has immense power in her upper body and unleashes it any chance she gets. Sometimes I feel sorry for the ball as she makes contact with the power she possesses. The common volleyball observer will notice her awesome power and great vertical but true volleyball aficionados will love her blocking skill-set. She presses so well over the net to limit her opponents ability to attack efficiently. If she doesn’t get the block, she for sure forces her attacker to try to hit around her and funnel the attack directly to her back row teammate. College coaches should for sure take a look at this young lady this weekend with what we saw from her last night. She was on another level at the showcase event. We cannot wait to cover her UPVBC team all weekend. Stay tuned for more on Miss Colvin.
Nia Damuni [2023] 5-10 Setter (HS: Ridgeline/Club: Mountain Peak Volleyball/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Damuni is a setter from Utah who plays at Ridgeline High School and also club for Mountain Peak Volleyball. Nia is a fantastic floor general who was dishing some absolute dimes last night during the Showdown Showcase. It seemed to me as I watched that she loves the spotlight and the pressure of competing does not get to her at all. She was calm, cool, and collected as she moved the ball around with ease to all three front row positions. I loved how she was able to track any balls out of system down with fast footwork and get it back in system with her smooth release. She has a great frame for the setting position that will show well for college coaches who still need a 2023 setter for their roster. Look no further than Miss Damuni as she caught my eye right from the start with the first ball I saw come off of her hands. She is no stranger to accolades as she has earned Player of the Year honors from numerous publications in the Utah area. She was pivotal in helping her high school win their first ever High School State Championship and it is easy to see why when you watch her for a few minutes. She wowed me with her skills and she will definitely wow you also. If you have some time, stop by her court and you will not be disappointed.
