A very familiar club has managed to put themselves on my radar and on the path of possibly being the best team thus far in the nation? Why do I think this, let me give you a bit of a run down.
SPVB 18 Elite has managed to beat some of the top two of three finishers in the NIT triple crown tournament, which is highly impressive and set to catch the attention from most. One of these teams includes the reigning champion, Munciana 18 Samurai, and when you beat the best, it puts you in the position to be the best. Following their win at the NIT triple crown, they then went on to crush some of the best teams at the Adidas Bluegrass Tournament, which include more teams that were once top three.
Now with these stats, come some athletes that are a huge help to making this happen. SPVB 18 Elite has a dominant team and they are definitely the definition of strength in numbers.
Alyssa Worden– OH/OPP
Worden is apart of the class of 2023 and she is one of the most powerful players that has continuously contributed to her teams successes over the last few weeks. With an vertical of 10’3.5 and standing at 5’10, the junior is definitely a stock rising athlete and can’t fail but catch the attention from others when she is out on the court. Worden is a very key component to kicking the strength on this team and pushes her opponents to the limit when they are faced against her.
Audrey Rome Audrey Rome 6'3" | OH Sandwich | 2022 State IL – MH
The UConn recruit has proven to herself why she belongs on the court and why she belongs on UConn’s team. Rome is very well known on the court with SPVB and her high school, as she is a very powerful and dominant player when it comes playing the middle and setting up with the ball. The 6’3 middle, towers over her components and is a tough match at the net and continuously puts up the fight with those that meet her at the net.
Ella Wrobel Ella Wrobel 6'3" | OH Plainfield North | 2022 State #10 Nation IL – OH/OPP
Wrobel, the powerhouse recruit and commit to Wisconsin, is yet another valuable player to her team and the power she brings. Lets just say that the 6’4 hitter will beat you to the punch. With a swing out of this world, Wrobel is a unique athlete in how she sets up her swings and how she is able to move freely across the court. The hidden gem about Wrobel is that she is a valuable six rotation player that is able to play in either pin.
