Continue ReadingWe have been watching the 2023 class very closely throughout the entire club season. A lot of the analysis has come from watching these players in person. We have also been watching the amazing footage that has been uploaded to everyone’s recruiting profiles in order to determine placement. We have been talking to a lot of coaches across the country and this class is littered with college prospects. The following players showed us all that they deserved to be moved up the rankings due to their individual performances.
Arissa Smith Arissa Smith 6'1" | MB Ridge Point | 2023 State #105 Nation TX [2023] 6-2 Middle (HS: Ridge Point/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Mississippi State)
Arissa has moved up the rankings and is now currently the 7th ranked prospect in the 2023 class according to the Prep Dig State Rankings list. She plays for Ridge Point High School and also for the famed Houston Juniors program. We recently profiled her last week and we stated the following,“She was a blocking machine both times that I watched her play this season. Her upper body frame is very strong and she uses that strength to press and seal the net really well. I was very impressed with her footwork closing the block pin to pin out of the middle. She seemed to not have any trouble with lateral movement during long rallies which truly helps her team stay strong all tourney long against open level competition. Her big hands help take away a lot of space also and she keeps them spread out pretty well during the block. The Mississippi State commit will do wonders at the next level for sure.” The level of play that we have seen this year from Arissa has proven that she deserved to move up four spots in the rankings. Please help us congratulate her on moving up from the 11th spot to the top 7. She has earned every bit of it with her individual hard work.
Bianna Muoneke Bianna Muoneke 6'0" | OH Cy Ranch | 2023 State #80 Nation TX [2023] 6-0 Outside (HS: Cy Ranch/Club: Houston Juniors /Verbal: Texas A&M)
Bianna has made a huge jump in the rankings and is now currently ranked as the 11th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She stars on the outside for Cypress Ranch high school and also for the awesome Houston Juniors program. We recently profiled her last week when we wrote an article on her awesome teams and here is a refresher on what we stated, “Bianna’s star is definitely on the rise since we have been covering her. She exploded during the high school season, as she was one of the highest scoring left sides in the state all year long. Her vertical is next level and it makes it very difficult for opposing blockers to time. She can score on both pins as she takes her big swooping approach to the ball. What I love is her athletic ability to turn on the ball in mid-air to hit around the block. She has a great cut-shot to the sharp angle zone four area and can also paint the line when the block takes the angle away. Her right arm is a cannon and it is very difficult to stop or slow down once she makes contact.” This young lady has wowed me more times than I can count and it was a no brainer to move her up the list when we compared individual apples to apples. She has earned the movement up the list and we are very proud of her. Please help us congratulate her on moving up eight spots in the rankings.
Blaire Bayless Blaire Bayless 6'2" | OH Plano West | 2023 State #63 Nation TX [2023] 6-2 Outside (HS: Plano West/Club: Madfrog /Verbal: University of Pittsburgh)
Blaire has made one of the biggest jumps in the State Rankings in this update. She went from 48th to now listed as the 13th best overall prospect according to the 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings list. She plays at Plano West high school and also club for the famed Madfrog volleyball club. We profiled her in January when we added her to the rankings and here is a little of what we stated, “She is a lengthy outstanding left side pin attacker who is signed to play college volleyball at the University of Pittsburgh. She really needs no introduction to the club world as she has been a highly touted recruit for a while. What I love about Blaire’s game is the fact that she is a lethal threat from literally every spot on the court whether in the front row or the back row. She is one player that opposing coaches must game plan around if they want to compete. She has every chance to continue to move up the rankings as the club season progresses. We are looking forward to watching her nationally ranked club squad compete at a very high level this club season.” We were treated to a show every single time we watched her awesome Madfrog team compete against some amazing competition this season. Blaire was one of the stars of that show on the left side as she dominated on the court. Her individual performance proved that she was one of the six best outside hitters in the state of Texas. Please help us congratulate her on the achievement as she has worked very hard at her craft and deserves the praise.
