Liberty
Four Heart of America (HOA) region teams and two Gateway region teams are among the twenty-four teams getting ready for heavy action this weekend. Pool 1 will feature PVA 16 Elite. They are the two seed in their respective pool and will look to create havoc early. Gretel Robbins Gretel Robbins 5'11" | RS Pembroke Hill | 2024 State MO and Slyvia Bunde are experienced players on this roster. The number 2 overall seed entering the tournament will be Missouri Juniors 16-M. They come into the tournament with over 40 wins on the season. They are a team that relies on ball control and a quick offense. Autumn Bax Autumn Bax 5'11" | RS Blair Oaks | 2024 State #188 Nation MO is one of the premier players in this age division in the state. In the same pool, we will find HP South 16 Premier from the Gateway. They had a solid year racking up over 40 wins as well.
We jump down to pool 3 to find the number 5 overall seed, Invasion 16 Black. Like with Missouri Juniors, they earned their bid from the Show Me Qualifier in April. They enter the tournament 40-16 this spring. Emily Watson is an experienced and strong defender navigating the back row for this team. Dynasty 16 Gray and HPSTL 16 Orange will round out our teams in pool 4. Windy City was favorable to both of these teams as both captured bids in Chicago.
American
Matching the Liberty division, HOA is again represented by four teams. Three grabbed bids from regional action, while one took care of business at the Far Western Qualifier. Representing the Missouri side of Gateway from the southeast corner of the state is Pursuit 16 National. We don’t see them as often due to location but they come in with an impressive 43 victories in the win column.
Apex 16-1 is the highest-ranked team coming in for our coverage area at 7th and top of pool 7. The Springfield club has been steady all year evidenced by their regional performance. Mollie Thomas Mollie Thomas 6'0" | S Marshfield | 2024 State MO is a dynamic player we talked about this season. Not too far behind them with the 11th overall seed will be Mizuno Club North 16-1. This team is solid in all positions and won’t be an easy out this weekend. Winning over 67% of their matches this year shows they will be in every match. This team has played together for a while and look for Avery Ashby Avery Ashby 5'10" | OH St. Pius X | 2024 State MO and Claire Mosh Claire Mosh 5'6" | DS/L St. Pius X | 2024 State MO to play key roles.
Mavs 816 16-1 will be in pool 1 after getting a bid from the Far Western. This run shows they are capable of going on a string of wins in a big tournament. Kansas Networks 16-1 will round out the teams we will keep an eye on in this division. You will find them in pool 4 to start the tournament. Zoe Canfield Zoe Canfield 5'9" | S Washburn Rural | 2024 State KS and Taylin Stallbaumer Taylin Stallbaumer 5'6" | OH Seaman | 2024 State KS are a couple of their difference makers.
Freedom
417 Juniors 16-1 and Mavs KC 16-2 will take to battle in the Freedom division repping the HOA. Rockwood Thunder 16 White will join them from Gateway. All three teams are the second seed in their six-team pools to start the weekend.
