A look at five 2026 defensive players poised to make an impact follows.
Emma Bishop is a defensive specialist from Glasgow High School. Athletic, Bishop moves well from side to side and makes quick decisions on the court routinely. Bishop is a talented passer who can excel defensively.
Kinslee Burns is a libero/defensive specialist from Nelson County High School. Burns has displayed the ability to produce on any spot on the court. A player with a solid all-around skill set, Burns turns the first touch into a solid pass to the setter routinely.
Audrynn Hamilton is a defensive specialist from Breathitt County High School. Hamilton contributed for her high school team throughout an eighth grade season, making defensive plays regularly. Possessing solid ball control skills, Hamilton digs and pursues consistently.
Kiya Noble is a defensive specialist from Lewis County High School. Noble is a productive back row hitter who can deliver from various parts of the court. Athletic, Noble possesses strong defensive skills.
Aalayah Patton is a defensive specialist from West Carter High School. Patton has shown the ability to be an accurate passer early in her prep volleyball career. Able to make challenging digs, Patton boasts athleticism.
