The 14s Division had a lot of players that were hungry to showcase how much they have improved during the club year.
Here’s a look at some of the standouts from the top teams in the 14s Division.
Morgin Parsley, S TeamD 14-Red: Parsley ran the offense smoothly and played with a real calm that kept her team poised. She also was good at recognizing when it was her time to finish a point.
Emma Keeping, OH TeamD 14-Red: The 14 division champs went to Keeping a lot and she was very consistent with her velocity on her shots. She made the necessary adjustments to find openings on the floor to end points.
Tessa Taulbee, L/DS TeamD 14-Red: Hard to go unbeaten all weekend without a good defense. Taulbee led the defensive effort and did a great job of keeping her team in-system throughout the event.
Sophia Benedum, S A2 14 Shamrock: Benedum had a lot of solid hitters to work with, but she did a great job of spreading the ball around and finding the hot hitter.
Ella Sutherland, MH A2 14 Shamrock: Sutherland was very persistent at the net and locked in on the play. She found ways to impact a point even if she wasn’t the one finishing the play.
Molly Molinski, OH A2 14 Shamrock: Molinski came through with some key swings during the event. When it was time to close out a closet set, Molinski was often the one to finish it.
Ava Barnes, S Legacy 14-Elite East: Barnes used her length and effort to make a lot of plays that other setters won’t. She was a big asset defensively, but quickly transitioned with a nice set for her teammates.
Sidni Brinker, OH Legacy 14-Elite East: Brinker was a workhorse for Legacy, handling a lot of key swings throughout the weekend. She seemed to get better as the match went on.
Mia Scanlon, OH AVC CLE Rox 14 White: Scanlon was an on-court leader with her communication, effort and play. She finished a lot of points and was in on a lot of other key plays.
Emerson Spiesz, L/DS AVC CLE Rox 14 White: Spiesz put together some good service rallies for her team and also was one of the most consistent passers in the division.
Rebecca Volpe, MH ROCKC 14-2: Volpe had nice form on her swing at the middle and was able to connect with some sharp angles to finish points in close sets.
