This will feature the best of the best players in the entire country and we couldn’t be more excited to run it. Over the past 4 years, Prep Dig showcases have hosted over 2,500 prospects in front of hundreds of college coaches from across the country. In addition to watching the showcase in-person or via BallerTV, coverage of this event will be made available to hundreds of our college coach subscribers on PrepDig.com.
This series of articles will preview some amazing players who are already signed up for the Showcase. The list keeps growing with amazing talent! Seeing these players in person is going to give us a perfect perspective of how they move, how the ball rebounds off of their platform or hands, and other intricate aspects of their skill-sets. Here are a few players that I cannot wait to see live in person and take them through drills.
Ashley Sturzoiu [2023] 6-0 Outside (HS: Buford/Club: A5/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ashley is currently ranked as the 77th best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig National Rankings. She plays for Buford high school and also for the famed A5 club program out of Atlanta. I wrote about her previously in an article in April and here is a little from it, “We have been fortunate enough to have seen her in live game action multiple time this club season at the Triple Crown NIT and this past weekend at the Sunshine Classic. I got to work with her personally at the Sunshine Showcase and it solidified everything I have heard and seen about her. This youngster can absolutely ball. Her attacking power was unmatched at the net and she moved so well patrolling it blocking also. Nearly every court coach wrote her number down as a top performer and it was very clear to see why. She plays on one of the best 17’s clubs teams in the country and stars for them on the left side. If it was something we were actually tracking at the showcase, her arm speed would have been the fastest amongst the 250 athletes. She should be on everyone’s uncommitted short list for pins. You will not be disappointed if you give her a look.” This will be the second tie that we will be able to take her through drills and see how she moves in person and we cannot wait. She will definitely garner a lot of interest at the showcase and subsequent tourney for sure. We are looking forward to hearing her crush the ball since she has been hitting the weights training. Stay tuned for more on the one they call “Goggles”.
Ella Coleman [2025] 5-11 Outside/Right Side (HS: Champion/Club: Alamo /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Ella is currently an unranked prospect in the 2025 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but she will definitely be added once I update them in a few weeks. She plays for Boerne Champion High School and also club for Alamo. We profiled her back in April when we saw her at our showcase in Orlando and here is what we stated, “We were so impressed with Ella during the showcase that we moved her up to the upperclassmen court during the scrimmage time. She more than held her own both offensively and defensively. She was able to score with both power and finesse as she has mastered the art of hitting the last five feet of the court and going high hands to tool blockers. Her hand contact on the bottom third of the ball was awesome to see. When she had the open shot, she also unleashed some serious power on top of the ball to put it straight down. Every time we see her she gets better and better.” I kept my eye on her this club season and she has impressed me with every repetition. She understands the game at a very high level and plays well beyond her years. I think she will be able to play multiple positions at the next level for sure. We are very happy to have another chance to work with her and help showcase her talent to the hundreds of college coaches that will be present. Every court coach at our last showcase in Orlando was extremely impressed with her and I cannot wait to see their reaction at this event.
Megan Moreno [2024] 5-4 Libero (HS: Antonian Prep/Club: Top Gun/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Megan is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Illinois State Rankings, but is for sure on our watch list for future updates. She is a solid back row floor general who plays for Antonian College Prep and also for the Top Gun volleyball club program. I have been fortunate enough to watch her a few times this club season and she has really impressed me with both her serve receive skills and defending. I love how balanced she is with her base while she moves on the court during transition and during contact of the ball. This helps her stay consistent with delivering a settable ball over and over again. She is not afraid to get on the floor and go after errant balls, which is a staple of the position that college coaches look for. She collapses well with hard driven balls to ensure the dug ball stays on her team’s side so her setter can run her offense. I truly love how she is versatile and can play both left and middle back at any time. She reads the play very well and is always in a great position to set the second ball when the setter digs first contact. I urge college coaches to watch this young lady as she will not disappoint when it comes to ball control.
