Both teams played some incredible volleyball, but a player from each team really stuck out. These players have been given the nod of Player of the Game by PrepDig.
Congratulations to Zola Zuccolo from OJVA and Laura Eichert from WVBA, both rising stars in the 2026 class!
Player: Zola Zuccolo
Club: Oregon Juniors Volleyball Academy 14-1 Gold
Position: S/RS
Height: 5’7”
Class: 2026
High School: Jesuit
Zuccolo is a setter and right-side attacker for the OJVA 14-1 Gold team and is rarely seen off the court. She has been a critical piece to many teams along the way, playing for the club since 4th grade. Having trained as a setter since 5th grade, Zuccolo tapped into a new dimension this season, really coming into her own. She has grown physically and her maturity on the court has skyrocketed. She confidently executes a 6-2 opposite Lily Mae Burkel and stays in to attack on the right side. She makes consistent and solid set choices, keeping opponents on their toes. A very levelheaded, calm and confident setter, she helps maintain a positive energy on the court. Her attacking is also impressive, with an insane vertical jump and a fast arm swing, most of the time it results in a kill. Zuccolo’s play over ECC was a major contributor to the team making it to the 15 Open finals as a 14U team.
Player: Laura Eichert
Club: Washington Volleyball Academy 15-1 Adidas
Position: OH
Height: 5’11”
Class: 2026
High School: Cavalero Mid-High
Eichert is an all-around outside hitter for the WVBA 15-1 Adidas team. Although the only 2026 playing with 2025s, and competing against primarily 2025s in 15 Open, she was a major contributor to the team from day one. Her attacking skills are deadly, with a cannon of a right arm that is often not seen at her age. She hits a variety of sets and places the ball in a variety of spots on the court. Her ball control is steady on both serve receive and defense. She has a calm and confident demeanor on the court that instills a high level of confidence in everyone on the court. The team often plays match one and match two with very different line-ups, switching out a middle, outside, and setter every set. However, Eichert remains a constant across the match, playing as a six-rotation outside hitter for both sets. Eichert is well on her way to being a top six-rotation outside hitter coming out of the state of Washington for her class. Carrying the bulk of the offensive load, her play was vital in the team’s 15 Open championship win at ECC.
