Our recent rankings update had numerous stock risers, so many that this will be a multi-part series! Here are some of the athletes who jumped in rank for this most recent update.
Claire recently committed to Clemson University. She is an incredibly talented libero who is also regularly invited to train with the USAV National Team Development Program. Claire makes some incredible plays on the court and is fearless and aggressive in the back row. She was ranked quite high in our previous rankings, but has jumped from ranked 6th in the state to 4th. She is also ranked nationally in the class of 2024.
Bryn has been so impressive this past season. She competed with the FC Elite 18 Elite team and was a key member on their team that took 3rd place in the Open Division of USAV 18’s Nationals. She also competed with the 16 Navy team after one of their rostered athletes was injured. 16 Navy went on to win the national championship in the National Division of USAV Girl’s Junior National Championship. She is a true athlete that just keeps improving and impressing. She moved up one spot, from 10th to 9th, but even that is an incredible jump to make.
Reese recently committed to the University of Kansas. She is a high level player who has exploded onto the scene in the past few months. Previously ranked 15th, she is coming into this update ranked 7th. Reese is explosive, consistent, and powerful. I had the opportunity to see her play at nationals and she impressed me on every single point. She is engaged on every play and a huge leader on any team she plays on.
Sophia has been a player to watch recently. She was previously ranked 20th and has broken into the top 10 in this most recent update. Sophia is incredibly well-rounded and excels in every skill. She is lethal on offense in both the front and back row and can play on either pin. She is the type of athlete who brings a positive energy to the court and consistently executes on every play.
Annalise is another athlete who has developed an incredible amount since the last update. She jumped 5 spots in the rankings. She is an athlete that has always been on our radar but has taken her game to the next level. She was named to the All Tournament Team after being a key player in FC Elite 16 Navy’s national championship run at USAV nationals. She will be an integral part of the Fox Valley Lutheran squad this upcoming fall.
Highlights
Sophie is an awesome all-around athlete. She has grown her game in leaps and strides over the past season and is one of the top prospects in the class of 2024. Previously she was ranked 27th but has broken into the top 20 and is now ranked 17th. Sophie is impactful in all six rotations and has solid fundamentals that aid in her huge success. She is an athlete to keep an eye on because I have a feeling she will continue impressing every time she steps on the court.
Highlights
Mattea made a HUGE jump in the rankings, from 44 to 18. She has also impressed in huge ways recently. She recently helped the Badger Region High Performance Girls Youth team win the Girls National Youth championship title at the USA All Star Championships. She was another athlete on the FC Elite 16 Navy national championship winning team. Her court awareness and volleyball IQ have been very high-level which has taken her game above and beyond.
Olivia played on the very talented Sting 16 Gold team that qualified Open at nationals this year. By the end of the season she was earning a lot of playing time as a right side which was a great fit for her. She was ripping balls and putting some insane power on her hits. She also put up a nearly impenetrable block. Her strength as a right side was a huge asset during the club season. She is also talented in the middle and can have an impact in either position.
Kamryn is a setter who has really found her element as a setter. She has quick hands and makes great decisions on the court. Kamryn has a great tempo ball and moves the ball around very well. She is also strong defensively. Her fundamentals are sound and she is a great leader on the court.
Highlights
Emily jumped 10 spots in the rankings. She has become a very quick and savvy setter with a lot of experience. She ran a 5-1 for Sting 16-black this year and was instrumental in nearly every point they played. Emily has great hands and a high volleyball IQ. She really shown how high of a level she can consistently play and and how well she can run a court.
