What’s the scoop on where California athletes are committing?
Kylie Bartel, a 6’1” class of 2022 setter from Absolute 18-Pink has committed to California State University, San Marcos (NCAA DII). A setter with good size and net presence, the native of northern California had a solid season with her club team. Absolute 18-Pink finished 4th at the Music City Qualifier in Nashville, TN early in the club season.
Amelia Hahs, a class of 2022 5’5” setter/opposite from Riverside Prep High School and Desert Rogue Athletics has committed to Fullerton College (CCCAA).
Kori Burke, a class of 2022 5’11” middle blocker from Canyon High School in Anaheim, California and Proplay Volleyball Club has committed to Fullerton College (CCCAA). She will play for head coach Niloofar Mojab who will be in her first season at the helm, taking over for Megan Tomicic.
Simone Adam, a 5’9” outside hitter from the Menlo School and Absolute Volleyball Club has committed to Johns Hopkins University (NCAA DIII).
Mele Corral-Blagojevich Mele Corral-Blagojevich 6'1" | OH Redondo Union | 2023 State #40 Nation CA a 6’1” outside hitter in the class of 2023 from Mizuno Long Beach Rockstar J and southern California powerhouse Redondo Union high school has committed to Oklahoma (NCAA DI). A powerful attacker with a heavy arm who has been making waves since her freshman season at Redondo both on the court and in the sand, she has a terrific volleyball IQ and ball control.
Jessica Dean, a class of 2022 from Hillsdale High School in San Mateo, California and Encore Volleyball Club has committed to UC Riverside (NCAA DI) to play for first-year head coach Nicky Cannon.
Leah Mendoza, a 5’5” libero in the class of 2023 from El Capitan High School and Rage 17-Greg, has committed to the University of Nevada Reno (NCAA DI). A libero with a lot of spunk on the court, she is relentless and doesn’t let the ball drop.
Tatum Lane, a class of 2023 5’10” setter from Palos Verdes High School and Surfside 18 MB Legends has committed to the University of San Diego (NCAA DI). Lane is quick, running a quick 5-1 offense in club, and has very nice hands with great location. She is primarily a setter but can also hit when necessary and is also very successful as an attacker with great court vision.
Grace Moss, a class of 2023 libero from Mizuno Long Beach Rockstar J has committed to California State University, Bakersfield (NCAA DI). Moss has a very steady platform in serve receive and makes it easy for the team to run in system with consistent passing.
Kyslin James, a class of 2022 5’8” setter from Fullerton High School and Brea Volleyball Academy has committed to California State University, Stanislaus (NCAA DII).
Shanelle Puetz, a class of 2022 5’10” setter from Mater Dei High School and Wave Volleyball has committed to Florida Gulf University (NCAA DI). Puetz was the OC player of the year.
