This featured the best of the best players in the entire country and we were very excited to run it. Over the past 4 years, Prep Dig showcases have hosted over 2,500 prospects in front of hundreds of college coaches from across the country. In addition to watching the showcase in-person or via BallerTV, coverage of this event will be made available to hundreds of our college coach subscribers on PrepDig.com.
We will be discussing some players who stood out as Top Performers at the USA Girls Junior National Championship Pre-Tournament Showcase. The next few articles will be on multiple positions since there were a lot of stand-outs. These young ladies stood out for a multitude of reasons like, physical skill-sets, communication, pursuit of the ball, technique, and/or teamwork. Let’s meet a few of them.
Kiana Souza Kiana Souza 5'7" | DS/L Harlan | 2024 State TX [2024] 5-7 Libero (HS: Harlan/Club: Top Gun/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Souza has been on our radar for a while now. She showed very well to all of the coaches in the showcase so much that we decided to move her up to the older court and she still shined in the back row. Her long extremities allow her to touch a lot more balls than the average libero. Her competitive streak is one of the intangibles that any coach will love when they get to work with Kiana. She will play against anyone at any time and never bat an eye. In fact, she feeds off of top competition. Every coach she interacted with loved her attitude on the court. She will go very far in this sport and I think college coaches will fall in love with her if they give her a chance. This kid lives, eats and breathes volleyball.
Zaniah Hoskins [2025] 5-8 Outside (HS: Johnson/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Miss Hoskins just finished playing Junior Nationals with her squad and then decided to participate in the Showcase. Even though she did not have fresh legs like the others, it did not bother her one bit. She still put on a stellar performance on both the individual positional drills and also the team play. Her court coaches were in awe of how Zaniah contacted the ball at her true high reach. This made it very difficult for opposing blockers to slow her down. She was one of the few 2025 players to go against the older players and she definitely held her own against them. It is nice to know that she still has tons of room to grow since she is only a freshman. Stay tuned for more on Miss Hoskins.
Carly Dossett [2024] 5-10 Setter/Right Side (HS: Steele/Club: South Texas Volleyball Academy/Verbal: Uncommitted)
I loved what I saw from Carly in the setting drills. She has super soft hands and the ball comes out of them so cleanly. She is a taller setter so it really helps when she plays defense out of right back. That height really allows her to dig balls that are well outside of her zone. She showcases a lot of athleticism while tracking passes off of digs and serve receive. Her footwork to the ball is what truly stands out to me. She is able to push the ball with ease to any location and it is very repeatable. I will be watching this young lady very closely. Stay tuned for more.
