The Circle City was chock full of the best of the best in the country and some even came to show off at our Prep Dig National showcase last Thursday.
Basking in all of this talent, we’re going to be breaking down some of the best from the showcase. Starting off with the pin attackers, there were a LOT of them.
Here are some of the best pin attackers from the 2022 USAV x Prep Dig Showcase.
Zaniah Hoskins Zaniah Hoskins 5'10" | OH Johnson (Buda) | 2025 State TX – 5’9 OH – AJV (Put in OH)
This player had me fooled as a libero and then launched up to swing. Hoskins has a relentless pursuit on defense and is not afraid to give up her body to get the up. On her offense, she jumps out of the gym and becomes such a dynamic and explosive attacker, she’s hard to contend with.
Lauren Latham – 5’9 OPP/S – 501 Volley
Another utility type player that can double as a wicked arm on the left pin or a steady hand in the running of the offense. Latham is a complete player that can do it all and as a lefty, she really raises the bar for either position.
Payton Smith – 5’8 OH – Hana Hou
I love seeing players that have all sorts of tools up their sleeve and utilizes those tools on the fly. Smith is another player from the showcase that I thought would be an outstanding beach player. Someone with great ball control but is also crafty with their attacks and can score without hammering away.
Jade Fritzinger – 5’8 OH – Actyve
I didn’t get to see this one swing too much during the showcase, but her defense and reception makes her a crucial piece to anyone’s game. Her reads on the ball, whether its in offense or serve receive, Fritzinger was high level.

Alyssa Walker – 5’11 OH – Alamo
Get yourself some hops like Walker. Not only does this player got some incredible leaping abilities, but she has a great vision for the court. She can get up high and has a great control of where she smashes the ball to score.
Kira Cherry – 5’11 OH – Pohaku
Talk about someone who can make some noise, Cherry knows how to take the air out of the ball. Boasting a heavy arm, Cherry has some top notch wrist control and can flick back some shots very deceptively.
Katie Cieslewicz Katie Cieslewicz 6'0" | RS Seven Lakes | 2024 TX – 6’0 OPP – Katy United
For a right side, this player may be a little undersized, but once Cieslewicz is in flight and going, she’s pretty damning to defend. On top of her leaping abilities, she has a gnarly whip of an arm.
Ava Helming Ava Helming 6'0" | MB Johnston | 2024 State IA – 6’0 OPP – Iowa Powerplex
Easily could be one of the top prospects on the right side in the state of Iowa or nationally. Helming can hit so many shots with a lot of pace but yet, a lot of control, making her a pain to defend.
Madison Turner – 5’8 OPP – North Pacific Juniors
This one caught my eye at first purely off of her infectious personalty on the court. She makes the game fun and enjoyable, if you’re on her side. Turner has some great elevation and a lot of velocity in her swings. You could tell when watching her, her experimenting with different shots, which made it a fun watch.
Gracelyn Skupski – 6’0 OPP – AVC
I love me some lefty power on the right side. Oh so difficult to defend, but a lot of fun to watch. This player has the potential to be just that. Skupski can hit a heavy ball and cut away at the block. For her height and her swing, she could be quite a problem coming into the high school season.
Ella Phelps – 5’6 OH – Michio
You don’t need to be a giant to make a play, Phelps is a prime example of that. Standing at 5’6, Phelps has a decent jump, but it’s her vision for the block and defense that propels her around the competition. She can tool off the block like no tomorrow and rip into open space if you give her the shot.
